After a year break I come back and see that all the Open RvR servers are closed. How restricted are the Core servers?

The only restriction is that you (and others) are not in a constant PvP-state by default; you can turn PvP on whenever you want, and it switches on automatically in the RvR lakes and Scenarios. So you cannot attack the enemy out of the blue in non-RvR zones, but you cannot be attacked as well.
((Well, I wish we had ORvR-RP servers again, btw...))
I played only on the pvp servers when the game came out and up to 6 months afterward. I have to say now being forced to a core server, i enjoy it much more. For one thing the pvp is now condensed to the rvr lakes. and on top of that whatever teir your in that's the range that can be there no higher levels. That was one of my biggest peevs about open servers, was level 31s in t2. There is no way in hell you have a chance against them. The core servers now are t1 can only be 1-11, once u hit 12 you turn into a chicken. t2 is up to 21 then anyone after 21 turns into a chicken. This makes game play a lot more fun and competitive then just getting run over by one 31 in t2. I really enjoy the core servers and wish i made that decision when I first started playing the game.

I started on Praag then went to Dark Crag in a merge.. then recent ended up on Badlands a couple month's ago. I actually like the Core server better. It's just easier to get shit done, like ORvR influence.
Though i had some good times on Praag and Dark Crag. Like going into T3 with my 40 Blackguard, and the T3 order toons couldn't put a dent in me. So i would just run around and laugh.. like a asshole without killing no one.
I think i was really drunk when i did that :P
Actually, there is nothing wrong with Core servers game-wise. I only miss ORvR-RP servers for pure RP reasons, not for ganking
I'm honest enough to say that i absolutely loved getting drunk and killing the little ones while they tried doing PQ's.
But hey, that's what a Destruction minion would be doing for fun, right? ;p
