I'd argue that having another live person there makes it so that it isn't all just localized in your genital area but a greater experience. Your hand, or a piece of vibrating plastic isn't going to make your pulse race, your adrenaline flow, it just won't give you that complete experience.

I would think your attitude towards sex would make the difference. If it is just a means to an end and the process does not matter then masturbation and sex would be on equal footing, though you are more likely to masterbate due to convience.
If you are the type to talk about sex with flowery language then you probably prefer sex, that is you see sex and masturbation as imperfect substitutes.

depending on your preferences, that is how much you like each the only way masturbation would completely substitute sex is if you valued both so closely that you maximize utility by substituting all sex for masturbation. Which would be a rare consumption pattern. Most people given the option would choose to consume somewhere inbetween the two extremes because they do not view them as perfect substitutes.

To be honest, the whole cyborg/android thing just creeps the hell out of me. I couldn't imagine having anything sexual to do with a machine....regardless of how lifelike it is or acts. I agree. But you've heard all the stories of relationships breaking up because one of the two (usually the guy) was addicted to gaming. And even for those who have their priorities straight, it's not always an easy decision. Suppose you are in a heavy relationship with someone and at the same time you have found the greatest game you have ever played in your life. And say you are in the middle of a sequence that has the adrenaline rushing. At that very moment you hear this voice coming from the couch that says, "Come on over here and snuggle with me". Do you drop everything at once and do it or do you say, "Be there in a minute"? And before you know it, a minute has turned into an hour. It happens.
But my other example in my previous post wasn't necessarily referring to women in a relationship. Like I said, it was more of a two for the price of one situation. Again, lucky *bleeps*.

I get tongue fatigue when pleasuring that certain spot, but I think that had alot to do with the 10 guage bar I had in. I finally decided to get rid of it though. Much easier to please without the extra weight.

News flash: The technology isn't that far off.
Given, these are just dolls and expensive as all hell (between $3,000 to $8,000) but a lot of these manufacturers are experimenting with animatronics. I doubt that we'll ever see a fully functional android, but a specialized sexbot is probably likely within the next decade or so.

Oh I wasn't saying anything about your personal preferences. I was just pointing out that your assessment of the technology was a little off. after a little searching, I'm beginning to realize that my own estimate is also a little off. We already have some realy impressive consumer robitics that could (theoretically) be put into these things. Cooling and sanitation would be issues, but it's at least more feasible.
