I don't want them to be working 4 months on bugs and what to add or remove from particular merchant. They promised to increase level cap and add new sectors frequently. 4 months break between each update, and there's basically nothing that would indicate such a thing. 1.12 update - social patch was already disappointing and already revamping tutorial and starting zones.
Lol at "I don't want them to be working 4 months on bugs and what to add or remove from particular merchant." Perhaps they not making the game just for YOU alone, geuss that never crossed you mind did it now?
besides you said you're lvl 20, so really do not understand individuals like you, why do you even play this game?
Try and enjoy/play what is given, certain MMORPG players should really stop playing promises, I know you not new so I am quite suprised in how you act...sorry...
And you end of every post Reality Check, perhaps apply that to your own thoughts, would be very wise to do so.
Please quote me where I said I'm level 20. I have two chars at level 45 with all crafting maxed -- all after 4 months of playing very casually.
And yes of course, I said what I expect them to add. I didnt write my post about the things you expect, or the guy over there. WHen I said the patch is disappointing, I naturally meant, I am disappointed by the patch, not that everybody is disappointed.
Again, you are making very silly assumptions here - which pretty much goes along with your issue with my last line - reality check - which in fact is my signature. It's not something I write everytime I post. Oh lord.
Anyway to the other parts:
1.2 that was released on December did not bring any new content at all. That's why I said, 1.1 patch - which was released on October - was the last time we recieved a new content - which makes it 4 months.
Just read it all, these are not content additions really, they are just very small changes that other companies usually don't even document when they do. This took them 4 months to do - October was 1.12 - social patch if I remember it right.
And what's even more disturbing is fact, that the line Removed Impure Antiseptic from the Medicine Merchant is mentioned like ten times in the text - for each medicine merchant NPC there is - and every change is documented like that - each global change that applies for more than one NPC is mentioned once for each NPC out there. Ridiculous.
It was mid Dec. when the social patch was released and it was 1.2.
I'd rather a company tell me every single thing they changed than leave out these so called small changes.
I guess I spelled it very poorly. I meant content patch was in October - and it was 1.1
1.2 patch - social patch from December didn't bring a single content addition apart from the zombies holiday missions, and tutorial revamp.
So basically, December - tutorial revamp, and a bunch of zombies running around.
February - starting zones revamp, and a small terrain addition with a new camp that increases the level from 45 to 46.
Yes, it's better than nothing -- but I'm still disappointed. I'm stuck at cap level for a few months, and all I read about in recent updates are starting zones revamp.
And anyway, this is presented like a huge major update - which isn't. Over 90% of the lines in the patch notes are the same lines repeated over and over about removal of an item from certain merchant NPC - one line for each NPC.

No need to quote, I was merly under the impression you where in your 20's as you said they didn't add anything for lvl 20's and up, oh noesss I have been wrong about my impression. But here is the quote I based my assumption off "but there's basically not much for anyone beyond level 20" sorry for not being able to mindread and know from something like that sentence that you meant you have 2 lvl 45 characters how foolish was I...
Playing casually for 4 months and you have 2 lvl 45 character and crafting maxed? Is this really crafting maxed or just the numbers/skill points maxed? Or did you really max out crafting meaning you have ALL recipes ranging from the common basics to ALL enhanced, ALL Improved and ALL Experimental recipes, if you do I highly doubt you play the game very casual. Would like for you to provide me some screenshots of the craft recipes list, as I am really intrested to see what lay's ahead for my crafting addiction.
Playing since release my main is lvl 25, my rifleman lvl 12 and have my crafting skills at 98 with ALL recipes I can learn and make at that lvl from 1 till 98. And yes I play the game indeed very casual.
And yes of course, I said what I expect them to add. I didnt write my post about the things you expect, or the guy over there. WHen I said the patch is disappointing, I naturally meant, I am disappointed by the patch, not that everybody is disappointed.
You said you don't don't want them to be working 4 months on bugs and what to add or remove from particular merchant, which is a pretty selfish thing to say towards MMORPG game. You may be disappointed about the patch never said you couldn't be

I know it's your signature as said it's under every post you make, still time for you to actually try and do that.

Just some questions, are you in a clan? do you pvp? or perhaps you not into PVP nor am I, do you try and help newbies? since you must have good knowledge about the game with 2 lvl 45 characters? Do you play the market/auction? as you must have some great stuff to sell or trade. Do you build friendships or isn't that your thing? Regardless perhaps take a break, I know I would if I would have 2 lvl 45 character in just 4 months in a game like Fallen Earth.
Then again most of the community I know really appriaciates what Icarus is doing for the game even things that might not have a direct effect on them, as said some people can never be satisfied and want it all and want it now.
To many company's have the same mentality you seem to have to rush out the content, keep adding and adding and completly forget about starter towns, new people that might be intrested in trying the game, bug fixes regardles how minor they might seem cause most company's are soo busy with those on cap lvl they ignore MMORPG are so much more then what is on cap lvl. You already know there is allot more coming, do you want it to be good or do you want it to be rushed?
I merely meant crafting skills (at cap) - I do not have all recipes and I don't intent to. I made one crafter/rifler - tech with no mutations, and the other melee/mutations character with no crafting at all.
I don't PvP, I'm in a very small clan. I don't play with auction either, there's way too many chips already, and there's hardly anything to spend them on. I did almost all of the AP missions for both character, I think I miss only the omnibuss for the melee char, and a few from the starting areas for the crafter.
Anyway, it's been almost 5 months since release, and there hasn't been basically any update that would add content. 5 months and most of the patches are fixing bugs, and spending 95% of the patch notes to tell us ten times that they are gonna remove antiseptic from medical merchants.
I wouldn't mind that much really, I wouldn't say a word. What made me post here was people calling this a big update. It adds one camp and content from 45-46 (camp added most probably on existing terrain within sector 3) - because obviously sector 4 is not being added yet. It's the second patch that revamps starting zones and tutorial (last one from December), and apart from that it's just all about bug fixes, and additions/removals of some items from certain vendors, written in like 3 hundred lines so it makes the patch notes look much larger than they really are.

Okay I think I get it, by content you merly mean more missions and perhaps a new section, you do know MMORPG consist of content that is more then just missions and new area's right? Sure would love seeing them add that aswell, especially for those at cap lvl already, but rather have them do it right then rush it out the door.
Also you made the post here because people where calling this a big update?
Sorry but who called it a big update?, all I saw was people calling it patch which it is and yes it's a hugh patch, for some reason you seem to read patch = update, sorry to inform you it's called a patch cause it patches things, you know fix things that are not working correctly, perhaps you missed many of these things as they might not have hinderd you in your progress but as you might have noticed many things did hinder many players. There for this HUGH PATCH!!
As to answer the general question of how Icarus is able to produce large sets of bug fixes with content additions, my thoughts are that the same team that developed the game is probably at least part of the current maintenance team. So, turn around in patching and content additions are easier when you have the same people that started with the game's development. Also, I suspect they've made key architecture decisions early on that make it easier for non-original developers to be integrated more easily than others (full documentation -/+ use of tools like UML, full use of SVN or GIT, and/or other development tools and structural/architectural decisions).
Plus, I have to say, the vehicle revamp was good. Old Nag sucked before, but he sucks more now, but what the hell, it's Old Nag, not seabiscuit. >_>

If the first horse was good, then it would be pointless to have other mounts. =P
[Earthrise ss in my profile][Coming out Q2 2010]
It's nerf patch, with a few bits of content thrown in...
They are still fixing bugs and items that should have never made it to retail, or should have been fixed months ago....
It's Betatail...
