Help - Global Agenda, Mass Effect 2, or Bad Company 2

GameMonger71GameMonger71 Member UncommonPosts: 122

I need some help picking one of these titles.  In the interest of staying happily married, I am going to limit myself to just one of these games.  My simple question is which one would you recommend and why?  Don't worry about my personal tastes or opinions (if I could make up my mind I would have), just let me know your recommendation and why.

Thanks!

I'd recommend Bad Company 2, first of all because it's the first real FPS game we've seen since BF2. Plus the havok engine just make it that much more fun to blow stuff up. Not sure what else to say other than the game is f'in awesome.

If not BC2, I'd go with ME2 because I've been watching a friend play it and the combat looks pretty sweet compared to the first one. That's about all I can say about it.

GA is alright, I played it for about 7-8 hours, but it got boring pretty fast. Not a bad game, just extremely repetitive.

just got done with ME2, the only thing is it's not an online game. But all other games took a back seat to this game. Had tones of fun playing it. Was well worth every penny and cant wait for more content. One of the best I have played in along time, right there with Dragon Age.  The way online games have been going GA will  fail ( or not ). And will be trying BC2 as i get the chance.

So you looking for the single player game ME2 is it.  The rest cant reply on really, haven't followed the mmorpg world. Im still playing EvE off and on. And that is getten old, even for one of the old vet. With GA id let the bugs get worked out and watch the forums see how it goes. And seeing  BC ill be picken it up at some point.

Though its not on online game, definitely have to recommend Mass Effect 2, its an excellent experience. Going back for playthrough number 3 soon.

    Wolfenpride: <--Giant fucking sword syndrome.

Probably cause im trying to compensate for miniscule manhood.

well mass effect 2 is an RPG. so if you like RPGs, then go with ME2. its kinda hard to compare that with the other 2. i dont see anything special about BF:BC2. i have the first and i didn't really like it. i tried the demo for the second and didn't think it was that good. although i haven't played GA, it looks and sounds really good, and if i were you, i would choose GA.

Thanks for all the  replies.  Bad Company  2 is out (it is oaky, but I think I have had my fill of one shot sniper kills and apaches raining  hate on my poor little infabntry self).

To add a wrinkle now though I am considering Cryisis (both for the game itself and the awesome Living Legends Mechwarrior mod).  I really hesitate on Mass Effect 2 even though I know it is great since I have hardly played the first one even though I had it , Mass Effect 1, since release.  Mass Effect 1 is a good game, it just never held my attention for some reason.  So now, it is down to Global Agenda, Crysis Max Edition, and an outside chance of ME 2 still.

I really expected a few more people nominating GA, but that is a pretty big hitter list I have them up against I guess.  I think Crysis may be it.  I will give it one more night for any more inputs and a coolling off period before I commit.

    Thanks all!

after a long and drawn out decision i opted not to buy Global Agenda as i have TF2 and the MMO aspects of Global Agenda are fairly lacking.

Mass Effect 2 is not even on my watch list as I disliked the combat in the old one (story was awesome).  It took me a year before i got past the first level (i picked it up, played half of the first level and left, came back a year later).  While I accept it's a decent RPG the combat is just meh (same with Dragon Age).

Bad Company 2 was off my watch list (1st one on console was very meh) but after watching some vids and having a friend convince me that it is the next battlefield (finally) I decided to get it.

That being said I am craving for a new RPG but none of the new releases seem worth it.

    MMO wish list:

    -Changeable worlds
    -Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads

Global Agenda - It's a great game (tm)

That's a bit of an inside joke. Something that started on the forums from the alpha testers and got picked up by Hirez.

Yeah, I nominate GA, but that's just because it's an MMO. If you're going to spend your money, spend it on a game that you can't play otherwise. ME2 you can always download via...other...methods.

But I'm just that way. As much as I LOVED Mass Effect 2, it's a singleplayer game, and chances are you aren't going to get more than one playthrough, about 18 hours of gametime. In terms of value, GA is worth it by far. I haven't played BC2, but I am a fan of the BF series, and don't doubt the integrity of it.

But yeah, Mass Effect can wait. It'll likely be down to 20$ in a year or so, 35$ in 6 months.

I have computers; they are fast.

none of the above.. all failures :/

Global Agenda has the potential to be a massive hit.... just complete failure on AvA design.. if they dump it and go Realm points it would havea about 10,000,000 players palying and every match and every kill would count

Instead its a bunch of morons, with one group leader in control of an alliance and when that moron wakes up thinking he has a briliiant plan to backstab his agency, the entire system just demoralizes into why am i botheting with this ridiculous bullshit.

I played 8 hours today, turned out to be a total of 2 matches and 10 minutes time...

All becuase some moron MERC in Cerberus leader decided to backstab a very powerful alliance built... The alliance had a chance to capture 2 shield bases and had one 99% complete and kicked a agency out of the alliance, merged with another then kicked another out

totally humiliating their bad move in the process and making about 100 players cancel the game after realizing whats the point.. this is a daily event in this game.

I never seen a game where you waste so much time doing so little play... and for what.. 99% of the agencies have no capability to win the game.. so they sell shit to the big guys for what??? you think it will change a week down the road? its been 6 months of beta and now almost a month in retail and the same story day in and day out

I quit. I went in and hit the cancel subscription button even though they gave me anotherf ree month.. there is no point to this game whatsoever
