Starting Out

Hello

After some reading and talking to a friend who bought the game, I'm getting really excited. My friend unfortunately quit because a) he prefers WoW and b) he couldn't understand most of it. This last part concerned me. I've always found it hard to get into a game without some friends there or a nice community to explain the game to a newbie.

Basically, my question is - is the community helpful enough, or am I better off looking for a clan or players that would help me if I buy the game?

In case of the 2nd option, any EU players out there? I suppose I could play on NA as well, I heard the latency is really low regardless of your location.

Thanks for reading and I hope there's some nice players out there who'll help me get into the game (even if it means you'll backstab me after getting some nice gear =P)

Read the game forums a lot.

    Join the NEW clan.

I don't know about EU these days, but on NA at least there are usually some helpful players in Race Alliance chat that can answer a few questions.

Read the tutorials, and try out the "help" button in-game.

I'm always helpful when I can be. There are people who will help. Just need to search at times.

I guess I need to stop reading dated reviews - as I understood there is no tutorial at all, let alone some basic documentation for the game.

Anyways, thanks for the replies, guess I'm playing DF :)

If you're in EU you play on EU-1, NA on NA-1 it has to be that way if you want to be worth a damn in combat. If you need some help you can go to our clan website in my sig below and register then apply on the Darkfall recruitment forums.

There is a clan NEW on EU-1 as well. Don't know what they are about though. They could turn out to be 10 months old pros moking on NA counterparts...

It's not just about better pings (Anybody that knows of Val Roth can tell you this), but rather about when you're available to play. You'll have a lot of fun playing during peak hours for your particular server. So if you're going to be asleep IRL during US1's peak, then you'll probably want to be playing on EU1.
