LF a game I played a while back...

Hello all,

I'm looking for a space MMO that I played a while back (6 months to a year ago). I had to quit for lack of time, and I forgot the name lol.

These are the features that stood out:

  • Part text based, part GUI. (When I had to quit, the movement function was a rough 3d galaxy, where you point at a system to travel.)
  • You could hire scientists and research your own unique techs and ships.
  • you could buy blueprints from other players who had researched their own.
  • you built freighters to trade manually, rather than automatic trade routs.
  • There were jump-ships to carry your fleet long distances.

I checked these games, and it's not it:

  • Astro Empires
  • Galactic Fleets (or any of the sister games)
  • DarkSpace

Thanks,

Scea

I'm pretty sure it's not World of Warcraft.

Did you try Galaxy Online. I played that for a bit and it sounds a bit like your description.

It's not galaxy online, like I said I played it a year ago or more. thanks for the suggestion though.

    It's F2P with a P2P option (extra content and what-not.)

sounds like you're looking for empire universe or empire universe 2 depending on how long a while is.

Was it browserbased? Maybe Archspace (now known as magellanwars.com/)?

Let's play Fallen Earth (blind, 300 episodes)

Let's play Guild Wars 2 (blind, 45 episodes)

No, it wasn't any of those...

thanks to all who tried. I'm playing Astro Empires on the browser now...it's not really the same, but it'll do. I looked through all the sci-fi games listed on this website, and it was none of them. It might be that their servers are shut down permanantly or something. Or perhaps they changed the format, and so drastically that I don't recognize it.

In any case, I just Got Eve online with two months sub, so I'll be good for a while :P

    Thanks Again
