since EQ i played nearly everything even crap games like Knight online...
What I'm looking for is a Game that has:
-A lot of Races (Minotaurs, Elves, Ogres, Trolls, etc..)
-A lot of Classes (Warriors, Wizards, Scouts, Druids, Sorcerers, Beastmasters, Vampires etc..)
-A lot of Talent Tree's per Class ( Wizard: Frost, Fire, Lightning, Nature etc...)
-A lot of Equipment and weapons ( I hate running around like every other morron)
-A non grind based gameplay to level up
-No Real Time Combat anymore please, just the good old TAB & nuke principe,,,
-A good Story that is told by cvoiced npc's (or at least storyline quests, or class quests)
-A good and Real looking 3D graphic (just no more comic please)
-A Team or Class balanced PvP

World of warcraft!
everquest
i just begun on tenare and the new graphic are nice!
I think we all know you're basically asking for another Everquest, minus the grind, which isn't going to happen.
Try AoC for a change of pace or something, it doesn't have oldskool combat, but you're not going to find what you're asking for without doing EQ 1 or 2 again... or Aion if you don't mind crossing off the first 5 points listed.

-5 races.
-20 classes at start, more added later in updates.
-Idk about talent trees.
-Idk (you can customize equipment if you're a crafter. Dye, add runes, etc.)
-Look for a single player game.
-TAB & Nuke? It's turn based, slower but more tactical system. Still "real time", depending on what you mean by that.
-A good story is guaranteed. Main story is voice acted.
-The graphics are excellent, and realistic but not ugly.
-No PvP at start, team based PvP added later as a minor feature.
Final Fantasy XIV- comes out this year. It's quite like EQ at heart, but then again not so much.
I know you're pepped-up about FFXIV, I am too, to an extent... but when a person wants a suggestion on what to play I tend to give them games that exist [currently]. This could be up to a 6+ month wait the new FF-MMo, maybe longer. This thread will have long been forgotten by then.

most games these days have free trials, perhaps its time for him to try a few of them... im not sure any game actually covers all those points.. or even most of them... but perhaps in his search for a game, he might find one he likes...
Good point. The most notable free trials I can recommend are the ones for Fallen Earth and Ryzom.

There exists no MMORPG of the like you described. So either you wait until maybe one exists or you try some even though they ain't exactly what you're looking for.
Try WAR. It got lots of races and classes, PvE talent trees and additional points for PvP, the graphics are ok too and.. well just try it, doesn't cost you anything.
Let's play Fallen Earth (blind, 300 episodes)
Let's play Guild Wars 2 (blind, 45 episodes)

Valid point.. but if he can't find anything that fits the description that is already out, then my suggestion is better than nothing, right?
Not really, this guy has a hole EQ left behind that needs to be filled. While I come from UO/SWG roots, I was able to practically drown in FFXI's charm, and it's still one of my top 3-5 MMOs of all time. That's the effect it had on *me* though, and mostly because I was an FF fan to begin with. To an outsider with no love for group-grinding or the setting, they will prolly hate it.

The closest thing I can think of to match EQ would be Vanguard but I know that a lot of people will be telling you right away how low the population is.
...was going based off of the EQ suggestions..
I think it's funny that a lot of people actually expected WoW to replace EQ...and EQ2 as well...
Now people are looking for a WoW replacement, lol.
Check out the MUD I'm making!
