I have been without an online game for far too long, and this looks like a breathe of fresh air in the mmo genre. However after watching several videos the combat looks.. weird. it seems like everything takes a while to die and its a lot more flashy things then shooting. Can anyone playing let me know their thoughts on the combat? (basically, and probably because of my hatred of the game, my brain goes hey this kind of looks like champions. stay away.)

I've been playing since Closed Beta and have seen some great improvements in the game so far. Currently I'm playing my Robotics all the time, and have reached level 32. I feel like the combat is just about perfect. The class balance feels like they put a ton of time and thought into it, and I don't feel like any class is over-powered, especially when playing in a match. Some people think Robos are OP, but those folks don't seem to understand that a single well-played Recon can demolish everything that a Robo can accomplish in mere seconds. Hence the balance.
I feel like the combat really well done. It's twitchy, and skill definitely goes a long way, but twitch skills aren't everything. Hence the teamwork. I suffer from a condition that makes fine movements (read: twitch skills) very tricky. I used to play bass guitar, but can no longer do so (just as an example) because I can't force my fingers to work the fret board correctly. This translates into twitch-style gaming as well. I have a tendency to over-compensate/undercompensate my movements when I'm trying to track other players. Even still, I feel like I more than hold my own in Global Agenda. Twitch-skills won't get you to the top alone. You've got to use tactics and structure to your advantage.
As for things not dying fast, I think that just depends on the videos you watch. There are plenty of times that I've been insta-killed by a well-placed mine in combination with a rocket, turret, or EMP grenade. No one-shot sniper kills though, which I think is great.
There's a lot more to combat in Global Agenda than merely holding down your fire button and spamming people with pewpew lasers.
As for comparing it to Champions online, they're absolutely nothing alike in terms of combat (in my opinion).
Now there is a down-side that I'm experiencing now. By the time you hit level 30, you've unlocked all the weapons and off-hand items you can get, and you've earned all the skill points you can allocate (13). That means that from 31-50, the only things you're unlocking are new armor, helmets, and dyes to customize your character. I don't mind this too much though since: A) I don't want the game to become about the person who plays the most hours owning the battlefield the fact that I can kill a level 50 character with my level 31 (or even 10) character seems much more "fair" than the alternative C) HiRez seems to have an awesome staff of programmers who are working hard on adding a lot of content by the end of this month, and much more beyond that.
Hope this helps.

Very helpful! thank you.
Can you tell me a bit about the medic class and how they actually play out. the videos mainly show them shooting.
Sure. I've only played my Medic to level 12, but I think I can give you an idea...
Basically, everyone in GA does damage, including Medics. If all you do is heal, you're only contributing to PART of what the team needs for victory. That being said, Medics have a Poison skill tree that's absolutely BRUTAL. Seriously, they can poison droves of gamers with one poison grenade and just watch the DoTs tick and grin from ear to ear.
There are different heal guns as well. There's a HoT gun that you can fire at everyone around you, which in turn drives your "assists" through the roof. If anyone with your HoT on them kills someone, you get an assist. Simple as that. The standard medic gun has two modes: heal target or heal target + self.
And two words that have made me re-think healing in MMOs: Heal Grenade. I can't say enough about these things. A well-played medic is an incredible asset to any team. They're also a gigantic pain in the ass to the opposing team whether they're a healer or a damage-dealer.
It's also important to note that regardless of how you specc your points, you have access to all of the tools that the class gets. So if you're a healer, but you wanna see what all the fuss about Poison Grenade is, you can add it to your arsenal and toss it around in the next battle.

Is there a respec available currently?
And this seems very fun actually. Probably will end up picking it up
Yep. In order to train your points, you go to the Neural Reprogramming Center. If you want to respec, you just click "Reset All" and you're good to go. It currently doesn't cost anything and you can do it as often as you'd like (which I love and do frequently to test out builds). I don't know if they plan to implement a fee of some type to respec in the future.

I was a beta tester, and the combat is pretty sound, fun, and balanced. I think its worth it to at least buy the game, but the subscription for conquest is your call. Some people really enjoy conquest, while other people think its not worth it.
How do you get the poison grenade? I just hit level 10 medic and was wondering where you get that.
