Gotta love Steam deals, on a related note:

This past weekend I bought Empire total war, Medieval Total WAR 2 + expansion, Rome -total War +expansion and Mount and Blade, which came with beta access to warbands (awesome is the best word to describe this addition). All for 25 bucks, I haven't been bored since.

-edit or slept really either, uhgg...

Steam really is an awesome place to get great deals.

I wish SWG graphics were a bit better though, I think that's the major thing I disliked when playing the trial.

I'm an "angry vet", but I picked this up this morning. Can't beat the deal and starting over from scratch may be the best way to go here. Hey, I've paid much more for WAR, Age of Conan, and Star Trek Online. What's there to lose?

Dunno, may get it though I already know myself and won't play it long if at all. Just isn't anything there to do, anyone to do it with and the player cities are now ghost towns of memories past hehe

    I'm and angry vet too.

But I guess 10 bucks is low enough to start over and try this game out again. If nothing else I remember enjoying JTL.

Just as a side note, SOE gave all former SWG players a full month of free time ....

I think they're desperately trying to get more people to play......

Nope just hoping to catch some of the fish that escaped Cryptic's STO net. The trial started one day before STO's official launch day. That was no coincidence, you can count on that. They know they have a much deeper sci-fi MMO, you can count on that also.

If SOE would just tighten up the combat and slow the animations down a bit Swg wouldn't be a bad themepark mmo.

I have a really hard time playing the game with its current combat system I enjoyed the Pre-CU system better.

They should throw in the Flash speeder.  It was a premium for the JTL beta key and I knew a few folks who really wanted it.  Yeah, the Wheel Bike makes it redundant but it could be a good 2 seater choice all the same.

The Desert Skiff should be in there to.

I think some of you that quit and haven't been back to SWG since the NGE hit will be pleasantly surprised with the current state of the game. It isn't pre CU, but it has a ton of content that it was lacking before. The think I wish they would do is give us more character slots. But, since they won't, I am going to jump on this $9.99 deal and grind me out another crafter...plus have more storage space/harvester lots.

I might be a naysayer, but I don't think SW:ToR is going to be that great after reading the forums. It all sounds like a single player MMO to me.

For only ten bucks I was thinking of picking up a second account. But how do I do that? I have to create a whole new SOE account too?

And with Steam you have to do the whole download, I already have it downloaded, so how can I purchase a second account without downloading it again?

I was thinking of giving SWG another go and this may be a great time. I've never used Steam before but I assume it's the same as D2D, am I right?

Angry Vet here too    (Why hasn't $OE worked this out  - Oooh loads of old players still vocal about their game...)

This is the big problem with MMO's at the moment - I need to give BIG stuff away to everyone to get them to play.

The point was that you had to earn things............................. If everyone get given one then they have no value.

Its stupid and stuffs the story lines to give (The latest film tie ins) stuff that is 40 odd years out of the current game cycle.

The point was that it was big and you could free roam / make your Av to meet your own play styles.

Games companies should stick to releasing mindless clones to mindless console players to stupid to own a computer and have the attention span of a gnat and can only think of pushing about 8 buttons (The really clever ones can sometimes press more than one at once....) and leave intelligent games to intelligent players who want content, stories and to build.

Dev's - Please remember that Rolex sell to one set of customers and Casio to another set.  Its how the real world works - You pick a market and make a product that market wants to buy.

I miss my game  and I want someone to please give it back to me....

I'm actually surprised by all the non-negative comments.. There really are no games that can compare to the old SWG... Might be a good pacifier until kotor is released, however the monthly fee should be reduced imho...

Seems to me this is an attempt to generate one last batch of income from this game.

This game will hardly survive till the end of 2011

Neither can the new SWG. :) This is a good price for all the extras you get, but the game just... isn't worth it anymore.

    I 100% agree.

  • If I were some of you guys that still have the original SWG box with game and paperwork.  I would hold on to it.  A few people, myself included are some of these that collect older Video Game systems, rare games, etc.  Let me just say...we got our eye on this one in a few years.  Because it IS Star Wars.  it's a game that most have probably trashed considering all the changes.  I got one original box, but the shape its in is so-so.

    Just throwing that out there.

I still have my original pre cu SWG manual and a few of the older boxes for this game. Have played it off and on through last year. I am into FE atm but I may just pick this up to add to my account for the grevious bike alone.
