you can start and will killng less than 100 1 shot kill monsters hit lvl 17 i just did this just by running messages from place to place
the armor/wepons systems really suck you have to built your toon around the gear not gear your toon for your built
chat window sucks if your not typein your not readin theres a 15 sec fade set on the chat window if you dont type in 15 sec the window fades away with the wasd movement system you cant keep hittin enter to check chat
grind fest ahoy each major quest needs be ran 3x+ to get full credit for that area with 30+ major quests per area /no thanks/
wilderness grind fest is worse you need 175 wilderness drops per instance with a drop rate of 1 in 50 this isnt gunna happen
the game looks nice the auto follow cam is nice the town system is great and i love the hollow map{open map click m 1 time maps hollowed out on screen} so there are a few good points
but start up armor till lvl 20+ no thats just crap {you can get in 2nd set at 19 if you built purely for gear }
sorry this game isnt for me have fun with it its all yours

Funny, I've been playing since the open beta last September and have not seen anything you just mentioned...It's not great, but I do have fun playing every day.
1) What MMO doesn't have messenger quests. Also you do level fairly fast through out the game, so it's no wonder you made it to 17.
2) You can mix and match you armor (based on your class) anyway you want. If it took you till level 20 to upgrade your armor you were doing it wrong and obviously didn't ask for help.
3)Of course the chat window fades...WTH it would be a mess if it was on constantly, all you have to do is hit enter, roll up to see what was said. WASD is used for movement, but you can point and click as well...so point click open chat read and your still running... >.<
4) Grindfest? You can make it to level 60+ just doing missions, and you can skip all the main one if you want, and you do not "need" to repeat that is just for AC (area conquest) rewards.
Since you only mention early areas it look like you did not even make to the second area and did not give the game much of a chance. Sorry, it wasn't for you.
This game is not meant for the typical "WoW-style" linear level of progression players.. you actually have stats and need to think about what you do with them, like how rpg's are supposed to be.
If you don't like games that require some thought then yes, you wouldn't like this one. You are given 5 free dumby proof resets for your stats/skills to use before level 40, so if you mess up you can fix it, but I guess that is too difficult.
