As much as I'd love to be able to give steadfast dates for when beta will begin and end, I learned a long time ago not to do that. In fact, I'll go so far as to say I'd staple my lips shut before I'd say it because no matter how hard we try, the chances of actually hitting those dates would be nearly impossible. (I'm sure you've been following MMOs long enough to understand that. image)

It's certainly our hope that you'll have fun. We have fun when we play and other people who've played have had a good time, though we also hope that the beta testers will not get so wrapped up in enjoying the game that they forget to tell us when they see something that's not working well... which is a good lead-in for answering your next question: yes, we'll listen to suggestions. That's what the private beta forums are for and we will encourage everyone to use them.

I doubt... very much... that you will have to worry about this.

If half of this (below) comes to fruition, this may be what the MMO genre has been asking for!! I can't wait!!

Take a spin through the Auto Assault universe, and here's what you can expect:

    • Massively multiplayer gaming at the wheel of your combat automobiles image
    • A uniquely destructible world where you can destroy everything that moves (and most things that don’t) image
    • Realistic effects! The Havok 2™ physics engine makes jumping ravines, smashing through barriers, and sending buildings crumbling to the ground incredibly realistic
    • Unique mission system—level up while playing, rather than playing to level up
    • Unprecedented world map system minimizes travel time and maximizes actual gameplay
    • Dynamic map generation—plug-in modules, terrain, creatures, and spontaneous world map events allow for virtually limitless replay ability
    • Highly scripted scenarios: solo, group, and common areas
    • Gain fame in the arenas, create wealth by trading, complete missions to advance your standing, or battle for the dominance of your faction in outpost wars

Have you played other MMOGs before?  Here's a few more features that might interest you:

    • No heavy death penalties...  you'll never lose hours or days of progress
    • Road Maps and Subdimensional Waypoint (Sub-Way) system minimize travel times, getting you to the action faster image
    • Demanding action-oriented gameplay, where collision and momentum matter...  no click-and-wait combatimage
    • Scripted PvE campaigns for solo and cooperative provide hours of enjoyable questing. image
    • Blueprint crafting system allows for experimentation or reliability for all character classes... without progress bars image
    • PvP Outpost scenarios are unique and highly scripted mini-games... each outpost has its own subtleties to master image
    • Random module technology allows for the same stretch of road to change from day to day... reexplore areas you've already visited for surprisesimage
    • Legacy slash command support... many common slash commands from popular MMOGs are aliased for your convenience, although no slash commands are required to play
    • Prefixed & Enhanced loot and enemy generation means you won't fight the same monster for hours at a time image
    • Unique and varied special f/x sounds and a professionally composed soundtrack for each environment
    • You can actually have fun and make progress in small amounts of time...  even playing solo! image

If the fix the beta signups to accept Canadians, I'd be happier.

It won't be too long before we can invite people from Canada (and other places.) I've said this in other threads, but I'll say it again here: folks, we have to start somewhere. It just makes sense that we start with the US first, iron out any issues we have with the servers or latency there, and then start expanding outward.

    Don't hate. image

I think being on fast cable or higher from canada could have low enough latency for bete testing.

Hell I have a friend in UK that I get 300ms to. Might want to set up some minimum latency benchmarks so it dosen't matter where you live as long as you meet the Ping requirments.
