Can my CPU handle high settings

Ordered a new CPU specs

windows 7

AMD Phenom 955 x4quad Black edition

4 gigs A-data gaming series

radeon 5770 ( temp card until the prices on 5850's drop so I can crossfire :) (but is a decent card in itself)

Could I run this game at high settings?

I sure hope so. I run on high with a dual core, Win 7 and an old ATI 3850.

Yes. Unless you have a virus or corrupt registries.

Getting too old for this $&17!

Considering that your rig is better than mine (= AMD Phenom 924 x4 non-Black; 4 Gb RAM, Radeon 3870), and  I can run the game with 40-50 fps in "Ooh, shiny!" settings (means post processing effects are on) and with AA/AF from driver, your rig should be fine.

I run WAR on max with a 1gb graphics card and a single core at ~3.2ghz...

Yes your CPU will handle the highest setting in anything short of a end-game keep raid. For some reason this game is alot more CPU intensive than GPU intensive, which is quite odd.

Game only uses the GPU to store textures and thats the flaw of the gamebyro engine.  Any 2.8+ Duel Core processor will be able to handle the game on MAX settings.

ok, that would explain why the game has so much graphical lag even though the gfx arent all that good.

Aion looks far better then WAR yet performs better as well. But then again Aion uses the excellent Crysis engine which fully utilises your GPU.
