Digital East Asia is reporting that NetEase now has the license to operate the first World of Warcraft expansion "The Burning Crusade" in China. The GAPP (General Administration of Press and Publication) has finally signed off on World of Warcraft's The Burning Crusade, hopefully bringing the long and often confusing struggle to a close, at least for now.
For the moment, China's 4 million World of Warcraft subscribers can breathe a sigh of relief. However, there is still the Wrath of the Lich King, and eventually Cataclysm, to deal with.

Fixed that for you.
Is WoW open in China again? Thought they shut them down?
How much signal I need to bring expansion to China? None? I go now. Good luck China players!
Check out the MUD I'm making!
Those that couldnt or didnt go elsewhere for it yeah....but im sure that wasnt that many, thou now blizz gets a nice influx of money from box sales.
And yeah they fixed that whole no WoW in china thing awhile ago it was only really down for 3 months or so. And then again for another 2 recently.
Its open again. BC is finally launching over there. There seems to be some type of shadow war going on between various ministries in China, and Blizzard and its players got caught in the cross fire.
Fixed that for you.
I agree. Lucky indeed. China has to be one of the most purposely walled off countries (at least major countries) compared to the rest of the world. It's a bit sickening at times what this country imposes on its own people and other countries as well.
Well it looks like NetEase did have enough guanxi after all... Or maybe the Chinese government was just waiting to outlaw joint ventures in order to approve any expansions to make sure that as much money as possible stayed with them. They knew Blizzard would never give up on a 4mil. market even with lower involvement and a lower share of bounty.

I thought BC was released in China somewhere around 6 months after the rest of the world. I seem to recall stories of guilds over there clearing content.
LINK It looks like it was released in 2007, so maybe this was just more of the Chinese government doing their control freak thing.
many players afk now, include me,or go to taiwan severs~
