They do this over and over again and you still get people that want games to be free to play. I have no idea why people still want this crap paying 15$ a month and getting a chance to be the best is much better than paying 150$ a month for a chance to be the best
i do believe that allods online´s pr team have done an excellent job. first the company creates a urge to play their game and then they smack this item shop on the users...perfect.
Sadly, no matter what we do, someone is going to buy those items, and someone already has. Gpotato will probably not revert the prices and just drag in what money they can.

I love the game but the fact the PvE is a complete bore with the limited skills you get is just UUHHH. I leveled faster in fricken FFXI.......but thats from my experience.
HOLD ON! I looked at the perfumes. I saw that a stack of 20 was $13.50 So that would make it .78 cents each for 1 perfume that gave you 10 hours of raid time. That would break it down to .075 cents and hour. Unless you die and then the buff goes away? Maybe not, because I play a hunter scout and when I died the enchanted arrows that I had in my quiver didn't dissapear. So they have the tech to make this so. If it wasn't something that you lost upon death its worth it then. Can someone clarify if it disappears after death?
Perfumes last 30 minutes, not 10 hours. That's why it's $13.50 for 10 hours.
Oh thats terrible! That explains the problem. Thank you so much for clearing that up for me.
I have been playing the beta of this game. It is pretty standard fare for an mmo but as a F2P it's not bad. After seeing those prices though I'll be retiring from this game. I'm not against a cash shop but those prices (with one of the items being basically required at later levels) are really way too steep..
Hope they fall flat on their faces with that stunt.

After playing Eve for over 3 years and trying a ton of F2p ginders and the recent debacles ala AOC and WAR, i find this game very amusing, especially the harsh death penalty. This could have been an excelent P2P title, but instead they went the wrong road with the greedy cash shop model.
Btw, you do realize they said that in the next few weeks they "revise" the prices rigth?? Do you really believe that?? I hope not. In the next few weeks while they "revise" they will evaluate how many suckers pay for the crap in the item shop. Hell I wont be bothering to check it either, waste of time. I wait for AIKA take nuff screens of my pran as much I can, remodell her in 3dsmax and make a game based on them, hell!! I make em be able to fly ships for funs sake.... Im off of MMOG's for a while, whats going in this industry is even more hilarious than the single player games part, where you get a brand new copy-paste of games, for way more than what they worth...
Allods in particular... The moment they implemented Fear of Death(a debuff if you die after lvl 15, takes away 25% of all your stats, last for 40 mins if Im rigth, and stacks four times... Its just friggen annoying...) I knew its the end. Now throw in the so called flagging system(makes players who doesent want to be ganked, impossible to atk in contested areas) which can be BYPASSED by a semi rare item WAR FLAG which makes the BEARER AND HIS PARTY be able to kill UNFLAGGED people.(notice those who got ganked AGAINST their will, WILL get FOD if they do not have perfume on). You can only get 1 perfume a day, from a 30 min long quest. Throw in all of that I told you before, and you will see, that after lvl 23(when you enter contested areas) you get the FOD after 30 mins of gameplay, regardless of your skill at PVE(if you die by mobs you get FOD as well) just becouse someone found a WAR FLAG got himself a ganking party and goes on a spree of blood, NOTICE most people claimed they found a WAR BANNER almost every 40-60 minutes. Not only that but contested area has the most aggro mobs, with insane aggro ranges, people die more often than not.
NOW tell me? does PERFUME is an optional item?? I doubt... its something that shouldn't be a CS item in the first place. Its like you do not allow people to buy HP pots from regular vendors, only from the cash shop, and then you put in all kinds of mechanics to rape anyone who desent have said pots. And then we didnt even talk about the insane ammounts of "PERKS" you get from the perfume.
In a nutshell Gpotato showed us, that GREED is something that they have a lot of, and they showed that COMMON SENSE is something they lack even more. And of course I learned something even more valuable. Its time to go back to the oldies when people made their own games to play with, since those who make todays games, publish todays games, market todays games. Lost their touch with the balance between player-business, that was there more or less in the past few years.
ps: One positive side to this, I can see a forum ablaze the first time in my life, to this extent. Its kind of an interesting thing you see. Seeing more or less serious Beta testers Burning with Rage and abandoning the game they helped polish for months... It just a small miracle I have never hoped to see... PEOPLE HAVE SOME BRAINS!! (O.o) I thougth most of the populace will just suck it up, like its always done, but nope... they resist with all their migth... really refreshing.
Its P2P quality, I would gladly spend 15$ a month to play this game, I will have no problem dropping 15 a month after my first free month in the cash shop, but I need to get higher level and see if my 15$ a month will let me be competitive, If not well I guess it will be time for me to leave. I only really started allods to pass the time until ffxiv is released anyways.

I only read 3 pages into this argument, but im still smiling about what i read, first off: i agree, Allods is a decent if not good game, but 1 thing boggles my mind, how can people even think and argue this:
"they added a zero by mistake" which seems to be a common argument in the first 3 pages.
Guys...they do PROGRAMMING every day, their marketing departement works with NUMBERS every day...
so dont say they ADDED a zero by MISTAKE in a CASHSHOP that took 6+ hours to implement, and therefore TESTED...
Um, all you people who favor cash shops and RMT - get ready for more of this; you're begging to be nickel and dimed to death.
Me, I'll stick with Fallen Earth. They somehow seem to be turning a profit and adding new players every day without a cash shop, just a subscription fee. Amazing, imagine that.
I avoid cash shop games like the plague. I cancelled my DDO sub because I'm not interested in Pay to Prosper or Pay to Advance games. I want my MMO to be like my cell phone plan - and if I have to pay $20 or $30 a month instead of $14.95, so be it. I'd rather have a one-fee-covers all model as opposed to this stupid ala carte business model designed to get the young, stupid, and gullible to make impulse purchases.

I don't get this. A subscription to Fallen Earth doesn't come with experience potions, stat increasing potions, hirelings, and the other items you can buy in the DDO shop. They are extra. That is all. You don't need those items. My toons get along fine without them.
Paying a sub in DDO is the same as paying a sub in Fallen Earth. Except, in DDO you do get free points to spend in the shop. Also, the option of getting an XP boost is there if you wanted.
You're arguement makes no sense, because paying the same subscription fee nets you more with DDO.

In FE, everyone who pays the sub has the same chance to "prosper" based on the time and effort you put into the game.
In DDO, you don't have to put time or effort into the game. You can simply pay cash. This is repulsive to me, and contrary to the reason I play games to begin with. I'm a fairly wealthy man by American standards, I'm probably in the top 1%. Not all of my friends are. When I play chess with them, this would be like if I could buy extra pawns with extra cash. It COMPLETELY destroys the idea of fair competition across status and class lines.
If you want to support it, fine, but I won't with my dollars. And I think anyone can clearly see how a sub based game like FE is different than DDO - I almost don't think that questions dignifies a response.

Bet you were Learning skills every 2 weeks in EVE Online that's it isn't it?
Flying your fancy starship around the cosmos letting your good buddy DDO to Rot.
Well guess what DDO is back with a fresh coat of paint and things are looking up for the classic MMO.
Sure it's not the GREATEST D&D IP in the world but hey with the right people it's fun as heck.
You wanna play the latest greatest fanciest MMO be my guest but if the Subs fall they'll drop it like a rock, At least Turbine had the business sense that SOOOO many other MMO Companies seem to just ignore.
If it's a GREAT Game with too little content at the time sure people will probably abandon it, but shutting it down completely JUST because you aren't ready with your content isn't our fault so don't punish US the players for your stupidity. Turbine realized this and brought DDO down to make it DDO:U, Sure it has a Cash Shop but 95% of what is in there You either DO NOT NEED Truly to experience the game, is Cheap enough so that you can splurge a $5 bill and get some fun, or can just be simply earned in game with some time and effort.
Unfortunately these ungrateful GREEDY companies that come outta the woodwork with these F2P Titles are all about Flash, Shock, and Awe. Sure let's get em hooked on this game we can rake in the cash because hey they're TOO Stupid to figure out that most of the crap we sell is so pricey they could sooner go see a movie at a movie theater and buy some refreshments from the food counter for what it'll cost em to play our game at lvl 20.
Several developers of these games worked SO hard to see their projects fail because their publishers were A-Holes.

I was actually enjoying it and I could honestly see myself paying $15 a month for it, but a FFA PvP system and cash shop that sells items on borderline necessity just cross me wrong.

I have no problem with f2p games and their cash shops but the amounts were just over the top.
I was going to keep this on my hard drive as a part time "before I go to bed" game but have summarily taken it off of my hard drive.
