Nice looking armor. Might have to try darkfall eventually, it looks like its shaping up to be a good game. But i wish there was a skill cap, and some PvE Raid Content, then were talking.

They are for existing armours. For the new armors they create, like this one (THIS IS NOT THE LEATHER RESKIN), they are catered to a role. They did not name what this armor set is for yet (magic, archery or melee), but I assure you its not just a reskin.

Too bad one can't look at oneself in a thorough way when wearing these nice armor sets due to the first person camera limitation this game has. Makes me wonder why they even bother when they could put resources into other areas you can actually "see".

Should I assume you go to work naked since you can't see yourself in 3rd person mode, why bother getting dressed...

    A) Others will see you, you will see others. Good armors adds to the game.

    B) if you use melee you WILL be in 3rd person mode, so you see yourself.

    C) when you rest, ride, you get to see yourself in 3rd person mode with 3D free camera rotation.

    Cheers.

For you. I prefer to swing the camera around my character at almost all angles anytime I want, like most other MMORPGs.

Also, first person view in RL and First Person view in a game are nowhere near each other. I have peripheral vision and my other senses that work in tandem to give me a far better view of things than ANY FPS game has ever given me, hence why I can't stand to play a game in First Person.

That being said, I like Darkfall a lot but due to this camera issue(which is one of the reasons the UI everyone complains about is the way it is) just makes me feel unattached to my character and I feel limited as to what I can view in the world. But that's just me.

This ain't a themepark game, get use to fact this is how Darkfall works, it ain't gonne chance thats also a fact you have to take for granted if you wanne play this game.

In year i play this game i realy dont hear much complaining about lack of view character.

As guy you reply to said plenty of ways to see yourself and others what armor they have, and its good that AV keep developing to improve and how it looks.

    Good job AV designers.

Since when did what I say have anything to do with themepark games? I prefer sandbox games and you can have a third person view just fine in Sandbox. Matter of fact, the real idea of sandbox, when I was a kid, was playing with my Star Wars figures or matchbox cars in a giant sandbox. ALL in third person, just like most MMORGPs these days.

If you read the original post on DFO's forums, here is a quote from the original post: "The armor shown in this spotlight is one of the new additional armors that are supposed to be catered (but not limited) to specific play styles. However we can't give away too much in detail information about this at this point."

They have this invention out called a mirror, try it sometime. So yes people use 3rd person in RL, whether it be by mirrors, reflections on a building glass window as you walk by or by pictures from a camera. Don't be in such a hurry to flame someone's post. 3rd person is essentially only being to view yourself from an outside source other than looking down directly at yourself.

I think the the camera view is part of the balancing of the game.  I personally wish I could scroll a bit more back though while weapon is drawn.  I like the FP view for its immersion.

The UI is different and is to be adorned once you are accustomed to it.  It makes sense coupled with the way the action bars function.

The new armor looks great.  Glad I recently reactivated.

Lol at the people want a "I see my self camera look how pretty I am"

Sure I loved Pre-cu SWG, like most sandbox mmorpg fans, but the whole pretty part in darkfall doesnt flow with it.

In rest or on a mount you can see yourself. Any other would be OP and lame, and not go with FPS, and real stealth darkfall offers.

I wouldn't call it raid content, but there are quite a lot of pve encounters that require large groups, such as fire dragons and krakens. The kraken's pretty cool since not only does it require a group of 7 or 8 or so, but it also requires a boat with cannons to kill.

Granted MOST of the pve content is soloable or done by small groups.

And skill cap wise, do you mean only being able to have a certain amount of skills per character? That's kind of dumb imo, but they do have two specialization skills out (working on more) that enhance either your archery or melee damage against casters while completely disabling your elemental magic schools. Not really a cap, but it forces sacrifice for benefits.
