Comments on cpu/mobo please

Going to upgrade, but going to do it a bit at a time. Want to start with just a new cpu/mobo and use the case/ram/hd/power/vidcard from my old pc.

That being the case, wanting the best bang for my buck I'm looking at at newegg combo deal for $226  (I'm going with AMD for price, and I have an ATI vidcard. I know its 64bit but its cool cause I'll be getting win7 too):

If you don't plan on ever upgrading it, then it's ok.

Personally, I would try to stick with DDR3 and socket AM3. I like knowing I can upgrade if I want to.

But yeah, it seems like a pretty good deal.

I hadn't thought about the upgradability. I don't know if it'll make a diff (I'll see if I can find a ddr3/am3/phenom 4x board with ati crossfire support in the same price range) but its good to keep in mind.

    Thanks!
