can't blaim sony tho, it's a good marketing ploy. they are just a bunch of money grubbing fools... i mean every expansion for their original product you have to pay full msrp for until the next great expansion comes out. or until they woop out the ole Platinum edition...
in EQ2, they have in-game content that you can only get if you pay the extra $4.99 to get it, in the coming months. it's sad but true...
i can't blaim them for wanting money.. it's only american to want such. but it's just getting sad the way they are going about it. they are only giving out peanuts and people are paying for it like it was caviar.
I mean they could poop in a bag and put the EQ label on it and people will buy it.. it shows ;p
I personally don't have a problem at all with the whole /pizza thing and I think most of you are blowing it WAY out of proportion:
Mainly because I hate phones, hate talking on them, particularily to place an order or something. Then you're putting it in the hands of some incompetent fast-food working mindless idiot to understand everything you say you want, manage to write down the order right AND manage to communicate said order to the cook or whatever.
I do just about everything I can online, pay bills, communicate with friends, etc. If I can do anything online to avoid phone calls or going somewhere I'm all for it. And in particular if I can submit my own order by using menus and such myself, GREAT! I personally love the new little "Order it Yourself" booth/machines at McDonalds. You basically have the same touchscreen system that the people behind the counter do but you get to do it yourself, you place the order, pay with your CC and the order goes directly back to the cooks, thereby taking out one mindless idiot middleman.
So you can type a command ingame and bring up a pizza ordering website from Pizza Hut, big deal, I've been ordering my pizza online for quite a while now. All this does is instead of hitting alt-tab and going to the website myself I just type in the /pizza command.
If you don't like it, don't use it, big deal, hell I wish there was a chinese food place that I could place delivery orders via the web around here. :P

It is rather stupid that they would put a /pizzza command in-game. Psydex truly isnt as stero-typing as much as Sony is. Sony, by putting the command is game is saying, that there fanbase are unhealthy junk food eating nerds. Even though that is mostly untrue, Pizza hunt is paying a mint to Sony on that idea. Pizza hut only advertise to bases that they believe will buy their product, and they think that eq2 players are unhealthy slobs that dont want to go outside i guess.

When you create and release your own Mmorpg to wide acclaim you can make a point of not including this command. You know, to jab at SoE and thair failure of a game.
kuno what the hell man people with the mind set like you make it to where people lose jobs and become homeless. if your that anti social i use that losly in term why do you think a online order or paying anything online is safer and wont mess up??? people still have to keep those booths/sites running but one time it messes up now you will be mad at that?? my best friend is like that and we argue all the time hes anti people to cause the way he was raised. say you do /pizza order it something happens to the site before it is sent to your local pizza hut what would you do? or you fat finger the keyboard and hit a 9 for last zip number instead of the right way then you messed up what would you do?
people mess up all the time you and everyone else does. so now you drive up to a drive through order well the headset is messed up and cant hear your order asks you to pull up to finish the order you going to get mad??? little things in life no one should sweat causes high blood pressure heart attacks and tons of other things that can kill you relax alittle.
my biggest thing to the way you said that is more and more jobs are neing cut out or moved over seas. meaning more people jobless/homeless. its a problem that needs to be fixed i love this country but outsourcing jobs and peoples livelyhoods is wrong just because some people with your mindset sees a 2 minute delay just messed up your whole day. you cant tell me YOU HAVE NEVER MESSED UP AT WORK!!!!.
another reason im defencive about this is because i was fired along with 2 other managers cause we made to much money. i was there 2.5 years they made up bs reasons cause if it was me i wouldnt have been there that long. i know business and its about the bottom line but the more we progress there wont be enough jobs for all of us and will be more unemployed than working. the drive up touch screen eliminates 1 person maybe more so a person just making ends meet is now close to being homeless. no one to tak pizza orders eliminates god tons of jobs average 2 a shift so 4 people no jobs a day at that shop.
people think there making it easyer for all of us but there making it worse in the overall picture. as it is i believe the last estimate was 70 to 75% of the US is living payday to payday and one day away from being homeless. i could be wrong but i know it was over 50%. thats just bad enough as it is. what happened to treating people how you want to be treated???

I think its a great idea, and it will possibly catch on in alot of other games, I think the world of ingame advertising has just begun. And companies will pay lots of $$££ for advertising.

I sure hope not poizzz, the last thing I want to be exposed to in a medieval based fantasy game is advertising for modern conveniences.

No, I never once claimed that I have never made a mistake, maybe you should reread what I wrote. And yes, I understand there could be some glitch in the website that sends the order through wrong, BUT this is FAR less likely than the person behind the counter on the other end of the crappy headset system misunderstanding what I said and instead of clarifying it just sends it through with whatever they want.
And I'm VERY relaxed, very little stresses me at all, had my blood pressure checked just the other day and it was in great shape. And honestly man, I don't think we have to worry about them outsourcing the pizza order taker guy at Pizza Hut. Trust me, I know all about Outsourcing, I used to work in the industry thats taking the biggest advantage of it, I was a Supervisor in a Dell Tech Support Call Center. It got shut down and guess where those calls are being directed now. I honestly thing you're WAY blowing this out of proportion. How many people actually order pizza online? I'd prolly less than like 2% of the total number of pizzas ordered are done so online. I actually used to be the head manager of the local Pizza Hut. Even if everyone in town started ordering their pizza online, which is as impossible as it is unlikely, those order taker guys wouldn't lose their jobs, because thats not the only thing they do there. So there's no phones to answer they'll go man the dough station or the landing or the prep runway etc.
And if you honestly got fired for *cough* making too much money *cough* and they made up some BS reason to fire you then I'd have to say you're and idiot for passing up one HELL of an "Unlawful Termination" lawsuit. But then again, I don't see why the company would have really needed to come up with a BS reason to fire you if they just needed to downsize you, it would have been perfectly legal for them to have said "Look, sorry, but we don't need these positions anymore, we're going to be doing away with them, sorry." So really I think there's more to the story than you care to share.
70-75% huh? You know another interesting statistic? Something like 87% of all statistics are made up on the spot in the persons head.
Anyway, this is running on way longer than I intended it to so I'll wrap it up with a brief summary:
I was supporting the system because it eliminates me having to talk on the phone. I'm not antisocial I just don't like talking on phones. Also because it drastically lowers the mistake in order possibility. Wether you want to believe it or not, Many times have I placed an order over the phone or in a drivethrough to another person and had it come out wrong. However of all the times I've placed my pizza order online or using the touchscreen system I have not had a single messed up order. Yes, I realize it is still possible, however in my experience it is FAR less likely. No one is losing their jobs over the /pizza command, trust me. And you REALLY need to lay off calling or implying that people who play MMORPGs and occasionally eat pizza are fat.

i didnt call anyone fat im 6ft 280 myself. my old job was a night auditor at a holiday in which is a position all hotels need i was the night manager. they highered another auditor at 9 a hour i was being payed 11.90 so yes help with a failing hotel that needed to prove profitable quick other managers where much higher paid being there even longer than me so highering new people at lower pay helped the company. i was there 2.5 years if it was my work skills i wouldnt have been there that long. that is the whole story behind losing my job along with 2 other managers. kuno not everyone lies i have nothing to hide so usuming that im holding back info is judging me before knowing me. i asume everyones telling the truth unles im proven otherwise thats how i am and how i was raised. also i live in nevada a right to work state they didnt need to give me a reason but was nice enough to make up a reason so i could get unemployment for a bit. one guy worked there 10 years but i guess no one gets fired for making to much money that the company couldnt afford that worker no more just like getting told your overqualified for a position?!?! happens all the time.
as to the loss of jobs doing online yes jobs would be lost a pizza place only needs 15-20 depending on how busy it is all day worker wise. lets look at how most pizza huts are there delivery or take out on the west coast. so only need maybe 12 workers the whole day then with no phone workers i was a manager at a pizza place myself when i was younger.
i said i believe it was 70-75 couldnt remember exact number but was over 50% look it up was on the news recently. i put that in there that it was over 50%. even if i was off by a little 50% is still way to high.
yes outsourcing is a major problem as you know but keep going that way less and less people will be able to live a decent life unless they move out of the US.
my whole post wasnt just toward you kuno just my outlook on the whole advancing techs that belive eliminating jobs saves money. but pisses off the consumer i myself prefer talking to a real person that a phone tree or a a touch screen and to clarify i know you never stated you never made a mistake. i was using that as a point.
