Well we are used all used to play games that gms know wth they are talking about, in the game DFO it's not like that, gms give you one answer about one question maybe doesnt is the true fact or will get you in problems depending on what you've asked.
I wanted to give it a shot after ppl start complaining about it, well in the game it's against the rules to afk Macro, Bot, hacks, and 3rd party programs to help you in the game which makes a lot of sense for us mmo players, but they dont punish ppl for grinding stats using the auto-run/swimming key while afk it's just a kick only from the game, well i wondered if i tap my shift so i could sprint and grind my sprint too, so i send gm a tell asking about that, and he said it's not something that i would get ban for "afk macro" just a kick for afk running. Well so i gave it a shot, after some weeks doing that the gm send me a tell while i was afk doing that and guess what bang i got banned.
I send them a ticket with the screenshot of the gm saying that to me, and they just send me a sorry for the confusion, but that is deal like a afk macro and it's against the "TOS" so you'll still ban.
Well about that there's nothing else i can do to change it, but what kind of company do that to their customers and cant even see that they are wrong and give a nice answer like "The gm shouldn't have said that and we a sry" done. I took it like a offense because their rules arent really clear and the gms cant tell us the differences ether.

I have always been fanciated by company players. Company players are gamers that really dont play the game. Sure they are in the game but I mean they dont play the game for itself. Instead, they play the company that makes it. They are more intrested in forums pages, developer notes, news posts, articles and business information than they are the real game.
its hard for me personally to take company players very seriously becuase I just simply do not understand it.
Its like listening to a Pink Floyd CD curious if the paper company that made the cover did a proper rendering of the orginal.

Im glad they ban players that afk macroing, we dont need them.
AFK is not playing and if you can't play much well thats your problem, its no excuse for afk macroing.

so wait you asked a gm if you did something would you get banned for it and the gm told you no just disconnected from the game so you did the something and they banned you? lol thats funny

Anyhow the GM said it was against the rules and warned that more severe punishment will be handed out in the future....guess what...welcome to the future :P
EDIT: Actually when you handed AV the proof that you KNOWN about it being against the rules (If you get kicked for something it = against the rules) they should have perma banned you in my books.

and the fact he even removed his name from the image. Makes me wonder if he even got actually banned in the first place or if he is just bashing DF

Did you get perma banned for afk running? I am confused.
Sorry to hear you basically got screwed by the GMs.
Use-based progression was why I gave up on Darkfall. It results in far too much degenerative gameplay. If progression wasn't as verticle in DF, it might not have even been a big issue. If DF was purely PVE, it might not have been a big issue. But with highly verticle progression and a PVP focus, things were pretty bad and it's no surprise that AFK skilling became commonplace.

you got banned for the reason you posted, AFK running is indeed against the rules and will get you a kick. HOWEVER since you were sprinting, you were macroing which does indeed=a ban like the gm told you.

Since he was sprinting, he had his shift key jammed/weighted down. I don't see anywhere in their TOS where a stuck shift key = 3rd party macro software.

You can easily see that there's a confusion with what the GM told me and what the support tells me, which they got change it before start banning ppl.
Dear kcc9889, dfo staff ban like this, First macro offense = 1day ban, Second = 7days ban, 3rd = bank wipe and 4rd perma ban. I'm not saying they are wrong with that rules, but the GM really f****** me up when he said that on the first screenshot.

WRONG after you run out of stamina regardless of having your shift key stuck down, you will not be sprinting.
even if your stam regens.
Or better yet just play the game normally. I've been playing MMOs for years and have never been reprimanded in a game for breaking the rules. Sometimes I wonder what people are doing to get banned so often. It isn't rocket science, just play the game normally.

Umm instead of banning them, they just kicked them so they will stop and won't be gaining anything. Why ban a player when you can just stop until they ACTUALLY LOG ON...Don't hate the player, hate the game.

1: What you did was lame.
2: What you did has been outlawed by AV and it has been stated in the past it may lead to a ban.
3:You knew it was the wrong thing to do (your common sense kicked in) so you asked and when you thought you could get away with it you decided to do it (your common sense took a holiday).
4: GMs are humans. So if one comes in to work after say winning the lottery he may tell you "Hey it doesn't matter you won't get banned". However if a different GM logs on later that week and he has found his wife in bed with the postman and has you reported he will probably dish out the highest punishment he can.
5: You're just whining now. It's like a criminal that asks a policeman "Is it OK for me to mug old ladies?" and the policeman replies "No, but you won't really get punished for it. One week community service at the most". So you being an immoral self centred type of human being that only cares about himself goes out and mugs an old lady, beats her up and steals her pension money for that week. A different policeman arrests you and you end up getting 10 years for GBH and assault and robbery with a deadly weapon. Then you stand in the court and whine "But I asked one policeman and he told me I'd get one week community service at the most, this isn't fair WWWWHHHHHAAAAAAAA!".

I laugh at all of the people not playing Darkfall. It's the best mmo out there at the moment and that's coming from a WoW veteran with two 80's in full raid gear. Darkfall is a much better game than WoW and will continue to improve as the game continues to grow. I am super excited for what's to come in the future.
If you're MMO searching, give Darkfall a try. You won't regret it (unless you're a wuss).
Agricola1 it's clear to me that u dont know much about DFO, however several number of ppl DO afk running/swimming because it's just kick only, who ever say never did it is probably lying, i had a doubt if i left my character running with taped shift so it sprint whenever have stam if that would be deal as afk running or afk macroing, and the gm answer was pretty clear about that.
My point, dont believe in what GMs say cuz they dont know much more than you, which is pathetic, and it's clear that both have some issue with their rules GM and Support think different, which shouldnt be, both should be on the same page.
A company should be able to deal with their on miss takes, even tho it's a employer miss take, which is my case.

I as well have been playing Online and single player games for many years. I never been banner or even received a warning from Devs or GMs.
I guess having fun is more important to me that getting to the last page.
