Question about server, Euro FFXI

in Final Fantasy XI

I live in Taiwan(some where in Asia). 

Tried  downloading FFXI from the US official site(D2D & steam).  But can't, it says I'm not able for my region.

From what people told me I have to go to the Euro FFXI site to get the game.

My question is, is everyone around the world playing on the same server?  So if I get FFXI Euro, I can still play with my friend living in Canada?

    I think so. The server names on the EU and US site are the same so it would be logical to assume that everyone can join any server.

    Yes all servers are worldwide servers where PC, PS2 and XBOX owners play together.
