Well what do you guys think of the dev team over at Mourning? I figured this is a must read for anyone wanting to post on the Mourning forum so that way they understand the rules prior to getting banned.

Are you on some anti-mourning crusade? All of your posts seem to be aimed at them and try make bad publicity as possible. I read your other post a bit where you whined how you got banned there even though you broke rules you agreed when you signed to their boards. Actually you broke these rules you agreed several times with new accounts.
I've never ever seen a place/forum/game where you are banned for any kind of bad language. Sure, racism remarks and those kind of things deserve a ban, but seriously, who doesn't release their emotions and put in a bad word (wtf, shit etc..) here and there?
Personally, for me, just because of this, I won't even consider to play mourning. They will even ban you if someone else finds you bashing something on another forum, that is just over the line.
They need to learn more about the internet, seriously, you can't stop bad language, anywhere.

This is really pathetic .. if they are so worried about 'bad language' then why don't they put a filter in place to take out/replace all those naughty words? That would solve most curse word issues and would allow them to finish the game and not act like hall monitors with ban sticks in hand.

I am not following development of mourning, so no worries kid they didnt send me or anything. I was refering to last post you made that was link to their boards where was your name with other accounts you had made there including account mourningsuck or something like that and I ment that you had to agree on their board rules to post there in first place which you had agreed several times and broke.

It is their boards. And they can do whatever they want with them. But seriously...If they want to attract players. They have to quit acting like fascist nazi bastards.
I mean most peoples speech algorythm's are programmed to sometimes slip up on the internet, and maybe say "bitch" or whatnot, and even, God forbid, "wtf."
But seriously. Instead of pissing off all their members and some looking forward to the game. Why wouldn't they instead just add in filters, and for when the game comes out, (which I fret to think of what type of ruling they'll have over the actual MMORPG) to add in optional filters (ie WoW with their bad language filter which you can turn on and off in the "Options" menu.)
Seems sort of out of line. Although it is their game, and it is your right to not buy it if you don't please. It'd be a shame to see an otherwise seemingly good game be ruined by a horrendous team.

I find it hellarious, they claim they dont cencor. Yet if someone talks dirty of their game they use cheap tactics to take them down, for instance. Someone flamign their game says "fudge". They write that word into their "bad language" list and call them for it and ban.
I have a warning for anyone considering playing this game, I was banned for saying "sucks" refering to a dissapointment. They normally wouldnt have banned me but I was speaking ill of their so fragile game so they banned me, anyone who plans to play this game watch out make sure you dont say anything like "oh fudge" or they will rip you a new one and youll lose your 2 years of play in one click.
That Nazi Dictator that works for them likes his ban button alot.
Bad language? They are the ones who have bad language, they can't even spell "Followed" correctly.

I like the sound of Mourning, it has some great ideas. I might look into getting it when it comes out.
I don't really care if they ban people for flaming their game, I mean flamers don't contribute anything ever so why not ban them? Most of the time they just try to start an argument in order to feel 'leet' and annoy every one of the intelligent posters in the process.

I dont like hearing excessive language by ppl who cant think of better insults, but when youre really annoyed or angry by something (example: perma dead in mourning, and you say DAMNIT, imagine getting banned).
Theres such thing as rules, and there are such thing as power trips. This guy is on a power trip, and becuz of this, the game will not succeed. Any person that he decides to power trip on will be banned. If someone who he thinks should be banned says "Omg that's kind of bad!", he'll use the "Om God" (NO TALKING ABOUT RELIGION), to ban them.
Im guessing that this will be a game that is highly dependant on "who you kno". If you dont kno a GM, you wont last long. (Again, this is just my opinion, but this is all Im seeing so far). I wont be playing Mourning. I really dont need to be powertripped on by a GM who has some serious psychological problems.
I've refused to comment because I have no axe to grind against Mourning - it doesn't interest me so I do not bother with it; a sensible arrangement - but does their forum have a sticky and/or FAQ stipulating rules (rather like an EULA) that must be adhered to if one wishes to post?
Surely, having a clear set of posting guidelines of what will and will not be tolerated, would help moderators to perform their job.
Still, makes a change from yet another interminable thread on EQ2 vs WoW.

That has to be one of the worst cases of a Nazi Mod, or Nazi Admin in this case, on a forum I have ever seen. Seriously, banning people for speaking bad about another developer, or spelling out "wtf" is just rediculous. I thought the eve-online forums were bad, but this just takes the cake!

hahahahaha well they might be developping the best game on earth, i dont care because that kind of attitude is far from being professional enough to earn my subscription money.
I always knew there was something odd about the devs there - especially when they post "we're delaying; this is how its going to be; if you dont like it, go away" posts they keep doing. Its true, its their boards and they can do what they want, but if they want to run a business (and yes an mmo is a business) they have got to start respecting their playerbase alot more than what they are doing now.
At this point, i think a hiring a professional PR representative would be their best move.

addendum: I wouldnt be the least surprised if ADO (the dev who spoke there) placed himself as the sole ruler and omnipotent god in Mourning - forcing the players to bow to him and give him their praises if they want to keep on playing.
I also just realized you'd get banned there for:
1. Sarcastically mocking someone
2. Being sarcastic
3. Offend a mod, even if it's not directed towards anyone at all
4. POSTING AFTER A FLAME POST/POST WITH BAD WORD IN IT

Hey, guess what? I am in the mourning community, but have not posted as I am sure on my first post I would be banned. By the way, Mourning did happen to look cool, then I looked into it; saw the release date was 2/25, a mere 6 days away and that there was 1 in game video and maybe 30 screens one of which taken by a player.

If anyone else wants a good read, the mourning devs have tried to "sue" the site 'something awful' for saying something bad about the game. the emails that follow after are quite funny, good read. I wouldnt be saying this normally but that devchat just blows away any sense of respect i had for the dude.
