What game should i get for my birthday?!?!?

imagePlz someone help me out!! My birthday is comin up soon, and im gonna persuade my parents to get me an MMOG.

But the problem is I DONT KNOW WHICH GAME TO GET!!! (It has to be an MMOG!) The games I REALLY WANT are the following:

World of Warcraft

Everquest 2

But i can only get 1 of them! If you have the time, i would really appreciate it if you could tell me the good and bad things of the game, what im really looking for is a game thats fun, and has a various amount of choices and lots of players are always on.

If you play any other MMOG's and think they're good then just tell me the name of them! Please dont suggest Runescape or Dark Age of Camelot. Thanks!

what sort of computer are we working with? Everquest II requires a very, very nice computer. WoW, on the other hand, does not need a great computer. I went with WoW, soley based on the requirements. WoW is a very fun, and stable game, in my opinion. I have not personally played EQ II, so I cannot say much for them. What are we looking for in a game? WoW would be a decent decision on a first MMORPG.

Dont get EQ2, even WoW has to be better. EQ2 just tries to suck money out of you anyway it can(pizza, extra adventures, extra slots). It is boring and tasteless.

You sound like WoW would be great for you.  Go with that, very solo friendly game and easy as hell to play too.  If you don't like PvP, then maybe EQ2 will be better then, just know EQ2 is little bit harder to level.

Plus WoW has ALOT of teens playing it too so you relate with them.  Also look at the the posters who rave and defend WoW like thier lives depended on it.  How they point out how its very l33t & roxxorz and say that EQ2 is 4 suxxorz & lam3rz because they heard it sucks by all the SoE haters.  Can't argue with logic like that can ya? :)  So go with the smart choice, with the long term game that BLizzard offers.  The game that doesn't suck money out of thier customers like the evil SoE.  Who cares that SoE updates EQ2 every other week, while WoW hasn't had an update patch since X-mas.

The Blizzard staff cares about its customers and are working very hard on thier servers from crashing or players having to wait on line to play the game on busy servers.  And working on thier end game so high level raid instanced zones dont crash while your half way through it.  Yes they are working hard for you, because they care.  They are working very hard to fix epic boss mobs who get walled and become gimp and don't attack back.  Just be careful you report all bugs or you will get banned in a heart beat.

Plus your parents won't have to worry about you hearing bad words in WoW because anyone using naughty words will ban all the potty mouths.  Can you beat customer service like that?!

for me, the thing that really appeals to me about wow is the fun factor and the story. Its a much faster paced and more exciting game than most mmorps and the storyline is surprisingly dynamic for a mmorpg.

The community in WoW, in my opinion, was (way) friendlier then the community in EQ2.

How can you have a community when its better exp-wise to solo then group?  When you can have private zones to play in (instanced zones).  When crafting is just another thing to do instead of a profession all to itself.

Guess someone saying hi to you is community to you but to me its MUCH more then that.  WoW is a nice solo game though for a while but that gets boring after awhile too.

I never said WoW doesn't get boring after awhile, I agree with that.

actually its better exp-wise to group then solo because i can go thru 5 quests in one night with a group instead of 1 or 2 solo and I get a hell of alot more exp that way.

    I play Planetside.

Since I was already paying Sony 12$ a month I decided that I would get the ALL ACCESS PASS to play Star Wars Galaxies,  Everquest 2,  and Planetside + some other games for 20$ a month.

So out of WoW or EQ2 I personally play EQ2.

I would tell you to play WoW until EQ2 gets Player versus Player combat.  I dont know why they think they can make a PvE game and expect it to be popular.  EQ2 has many downfalls like you need a super computer to run even on the medium-low settings.

Both games put and equal emphasis on forcing you to group up with other players in my opinion.

So get WoW until EQ2 comes out with PvP,  then move on over to EQ2.   Also EQ2 has a long ways to develop.  WoW has more 'feature' other then just PvP.

Try World of Warcraft out for a month, most players get bored with it by around the first-month marker and then head over to EQ2. If you try out Everquest 2 first you won't appreciate it as much as if you try World of Warcraft first.
