I know this may be a little bit off topics, but I just want to see what other games are out there and maybe education some of the younger generation of great amazing games they may have missed out. If I had a question I would have asked Pann and their company if those games was an infulerence game for them.

Here are the list of games that I know so far, please add if you know I missed some. Even from old board games, video games, and movies. I'm vaugely trying to recall from memory if I'm mistaken, please please correct me right away! I'm trying to get all the information such as name, Game band name/universe if there is any, and the company that makes them.

I am talking about car combat with mounted weapons not just some derby, but do list them and note it is only derby if people like that. I'll do that too.

Board Game:

Autoduel - GRUPS - Steve Jackson

Car Wars - Steve Jackson

Dark Future - Gamesworkshop

C.R.A.S.H. - One of the sweden company I beleive. One I get all the stuff out of my parent's home I'll be able to give you the company name.

Thunder Run - Milton Baley

Card Game:

Road Warrior(?) - Avalon Hill

Car Wars Divison series - Steve Jackson

Movies:

Deathrace 2000

Mad Max Series (Road Warrior, Mad Max, and Mad Max at Thunderdome)

Computer Games:

Autoduel - Unsure (Abandoned software now)

Deathtrack(?) - Unsure

(I know there is tons more I just can not remember the right names. Heck, I know I own 5 different copies of similar themed game.)

Video Games:

Twisted Metal Series - PSX and PSX2

Vilatange(SP) 8 - PSX

Demo. Derby (Obviously a derby game)

Freestanding Arcade:

Kitty Demo. Derby. (Derby)

That's all folks that I can think off the top of my head.

    TV Show:

Thunder Battledome? - Spike TV - Turner  Yepper there was sort of car combat game but it was not real just largely a set matchs that people would know who wins or lose like wrestling.

Highway Man - Unsure - Yeah its a cool rig that actually can open up and the helicopter is stored in the back. Way cool show.

    TV Movies:

I know there is a few as I have seen some when I was a little kid but it would be nearly impossible for me to recall it.

    TV Shows:

Viper- (Just a huge push for the new Viper Dodge car  on the market that came out that year)

Monster Truck - You know it Big Foot, Grave Digger, and all that.

Knight Rider - Can't believe I forgot to list that

One show I am missing is I think it was centred around the Vector car or the Lamburghi(SP) Which is really formed from a ball of enegry and this person could control it to morph into things that would help him in the show, way cool!!

    Books:

    - Steve Jackson write book where the reader was the hero, or was it another author?

    Movies:

    - The nemesis serie?

Althought it is ''far'' from car fighting, I would dare to ask the evil question many must be having in their minds:

''Is, Auto Assault, influenced by Dune.  I believe it would be pretty hard for any desert oriented story to resist those urges, especially if many peoples are involved(how many devs?).''  image  (there is no right or wrong answer here, some peoples will love a Dune influence, some others will hate it, most will prolly not mind that much)  Isnt resisting this urge almost as hard as resisting the urge to use Dwarfs and Elfs in Fantasy(and we all know there is both good and bad in doing it or resisting it)?

Great post-apocalptic movie that I was stoked to find on DVD last weekend: A Boy and His Dog. Not one for the younger folks (at least an R or NC 17 rating by today's standards) and not many (if any vehicles), but nonetheless one of my favorites if you like your p-a with a side of sarcastic, dark humor.

I'm dating myself a bit here, but I loved playing the Arcade game called Death Race 2000 (or somtimes just Death Race) waaaaaay back in 1976 wherein two players drove over people and little tombstone crosses popped up.  It is generally considered to be the game that started the controversy over violent video games.
