Version 1.5 soaks everything in blood. The Bankers capitalize on clones to turn a profit as they set up the Blood Sports league, pitting players against each other in arenas and head-to-head conflicts as they scrap for glory and chips. As players fight in Blood Sports, clans will be able to wage war on a global scale. If the PvP action isn’t enough to get your heart pumping, we are cranking up combat by evaluating animations, reactions, AI, and any area we think can improve the immersion and adrenaline during combat. Additionally, a deep Achievement system will allow players to chronicle and proudly display their feats in the apocalypse.
This is from their state of the game address looking forward. I love achievement systems and love Fallen Earth, so this is awesome! I know some hate this sort of thing, but for me, it's great news. This dev team sure is pumping out the content!

I like it.

Any timeframe on this or is it just something they want to do sometime down the road?
1.3 coming out soon.
1.5 maybe one or two months. I think.

WoW!!
This is really great news! I need to update my information about this game immediately.
Thanks for posting this.
Make us care MORE about our faction & world pvp!
I couldn't agree more, they are doing an amazing job with there game.
I wish more studios were as passionate about there title as Icarus is with Fallen Earth, if they were we would see more innovation and alot less of the repetitiveness and lack of a solid foundation that seems to be so common among many new mmorpg's these days.
$5 says if a themepark added an Achievement system, we'd all be saying the devs are lazy and are just trying to mask the lack of content (or perhaps the overabundance of boring, repetitive content).
But because Fallen Earth is a sandbox, yay!!!
I like Achievement systems too, so this has my interest.
Ah crap, another mmo's turning into a pvp gank fest sigh.......
I have no interest in PVP, maybe it's my age, but hell, fighting against another player for bragging rights is no fun for me. Sad to see that theses guys are going to turn a nice sandbox post apocalytic game into WOW again (Arenas).
I'm glad you guys like it, but it's pretty bad news to me.
Honestly, it just seems like another half-assed attempt at straddling the lines between PVE and PVP, having nothing fulfilling in either aspect. It just seems like they are going along with more of the same old, half thought out ideas as they did with Death Toll and Conflict Towns.
Achievement systems are shallow. "Hey....... we can't think of more stuff to do, so here's some more of nothing for doing something"

I agree completely with both sentiments. I've never understood what attracts players to achievement systems, they have always seemed to me a way the devs can fill lack of content by getting players to want to recycle the same content in ways the devs decide (kinda like simon says).
As for the PvP build-up- as always my biggest issue with putting emphasis on PvP aspects after public release is it always messes up PvE. It looks like the choices will come down to PvP or farming/crafting eventually.
SWG had an achievement system in the form of badges and that worked out fine. I don't see why all the negativity, thus far the game's been nothing but one positive surprise after another - why would this be any different, you don't know what they're planning, you havent messed around with it in game.
Wait until it comes out, and if it totally blows and makes the game a gnakfest or whatever fine. But so far new sectors are promised, and the game is really turning out to be brillo, so wait and see before you slam it as the next whateverthefuck

Wtf are you guys talking about? 1.5 wont turn FE into a gankfest. There will be no forced PVP in FE. 1.5 will just introduce some new PVP features, and it wont end with just adding PVP content. This isnt about some kind of endgame.
In 1.4 (somehow ignored in this thread), a new sector will be added and lvl cap will be raised to 50. One of many sectors that will be rolled out over time. More features will be introduced to. Pet system and respec system (both no details yet) have been talked about already. Housing system is in the works. And not to mention a large part of the world still has to be opened up. With new advancement systems later on too.
Anyone who saw one of the podcasts, should know that they were already talking about lvlcap at 150.
The whole game was designed around 150, that's been said over and over since '05 or '06, when they first started making their development public.
Each sector was supposed to add 15 levels. It's good to know, that the first new one only adds 5. It means, they have many more planned for the future.

Its possible that they will add more content to sector 4 later on. Like 1.3 for example, which raised lvl cap from 45 to 46, was added to sector 3.
The more recent dev statements indicate they no longer plan to have 10 sectors (eventually) nor level 150, but more likely level 90 before the 'way we advance' may change to some different style.
Sector 4 is AFTER the 1.5 patch, last I heard.
More likely about 6 connected sectors, now, before the game might add a 'far away' sector, like Area 51 (Used to be planning Las Vegas, but, since Fallout Online is based there, they have less interest in going there).
Well, everyone got another opinion. I personally don't care much for arenas. If I want to have PvP, I play some "real" PvP games like TF2.
Achievements? They're fun. They're not necessary for a good game, and I'm no achievement hunter, but having a message pop up every now and then that you achieved this and that is nice. Many people want achievements, so they're given achievements, and that's something positive and no "we cant think of stuff to do". The FE crew is according to what I saw of the game so far a very creative bunch, and I doubt they will run out of ideas any time soon.
And "half-assed attempt"? Not every game has to be 100% PvE or PvP. Some games go into one direction but still have a nod every now and then into the other. I don't mind it. If you see everything negative, then it's probably your point of view and not the game that's causing the probs.
I personally don't care much how many sectors are planned. I've no char yet in sector 3 even, so there is lots for me to discover. And by the time I'm through sector 3, there will probably sector 4 available. So for me, there is no reason to worry, lot's of stuff to do in the game.
Let's play Fallen Earth (blind, 300 episodes)
Let's play Guild Wars 2 (blind, 45 episodes)
