Thats right I made a release date thread. I know theyre being as vague about it as possible but whats the jecture? I havent seen any ads on tv and the website is missing half its content. Do you think they left out what quarter itll come out because it may be 2011 or later for release? Someone on here has to work for or have a cousin or something that works for square and has an idea.

I recently saw somewhere (tentonhammer i think) an interview that said they will in fact launch in 2010 and they sounded happy about it. That's all I know, hopefully they won't announce that it's 2011 or else I might just stop following this game... until 2011.
I wish it would come out now or least open beta but i don't want it to be rushed...and smooth ff11 was amazing I'm sure the wait will be worth it
Well the longer it takes, the better they can make it instead of some half assed product like *cough* (Aion).

Its a worldwide release, so if we don't see it this year, neither will anyone else.
It will likely launch on the 9 year anniversary of FFXI. I think it was released in November in 2001.
it launched May 16, 2002 for japan on ps2 and then a year later for the states. They already seem very confident that it will be out this year. They have said they are on track at gamescon last year and SE doesnt tend to set a date, repeate it and then push back again, especially since this game is 5yrs into production.
But the game will need a PC from 2011 to run smoothly

i hope it is delayed, good games never hit their release targets, because they work on it more and more, the better it is the better for us, need a game that knocks WOW of its throne lol

I think I will go into hibernation until the game comes out, hopefully this year. I was dissapointed by Aion so I am not playing any MMORPG games until FF14, TOR, or Aion 2.0/3.0 (depending on what new features are available).
I think you forgot to put in some actual playtime in the time frame.
Aion broke my heart. Im gonna try the darkfall trial for a dollar. It may be worthwhile. But really its just to kill time. Square has a massive dev team. Most these games like Aion have quite a few people that were working on it but Square is def top notch when it comes to numbers and experience. I think if anyone could have a polished and good game at release its square. FFXI was good at release. Given back in those days they all were.

My initial predictions, I say the game won't be released until October 28, 2010. I remember FFXI was released on October 28, 2003.
It will probably be in Q4..Can't wait for it to come out >.<

FFXIV will come out a month before WOW's expansion. If they don't it will cost them millions and I am sure they know that as do we. So Dec. 2010 WOW and Nov. 2010 FFXIV.
Two entirely different groups of players, so there won't be an conflict on who is going where, but this time-line would surely be nice though; we'd only have to deal with WoWbies for less than 1 month!

Id rather not have to deal with them at all. Id be just as happy with them both releasing on the same day.

I'm pretty sure an interview somewhere said the game was like 90% feature complete. All they really need to work on is content. So the 2010 releases are definately realistic.
The Alpha test phase starting next week will have 10% content available, but I expect they alsready have most of it done. They're just doing focus testing.
that would be awesome. yeah i am so sick of wow i was finally able to quit wow, i am looking forward to FF14 so much i mean i enjoied 11 but i didnt have the time since i was in school now i do have the time and grouping won't be needed as much which will be nice.
