Stick with WOW until SWTOR comes out, otherwise, give LotRO a shot.

There are lots of games with free trials out there that you can try out.

One game that appears to be on the up-tick is Dungeons and Dragons Online, and you can start out playing the game for free for as long as you want to see if you like it.

You should maybe offer a little more in terms of what you're looking for in a game, though. Tough to recommend based on no real criteria.

You can play D&D online entirely free if you're up for a massive, boring grind.

    Just saying.

You should give Age of Conan A try it has a unlimited free trial up to level 20. The game is much improved and with the new exp coming is a few months it should be even better. The combat system is very different from what you might be used to quite a challenge in PVP.

A subscription based game with a healthy community? Phew....

If I'd be you, I'd just play the free trials of LoTRO, AoC, WAR, FE, Alganon, EVE or the 1$-trial of DF. None of these games is having a huge community, but I guess all are rather stable on a low level. Or maybe Aion or STO, just play free trials.

Let's play Fallen Earth (blind, 300 episodes)

Let's play Guild Wars 2 (blind, 45 episodes)

DDO is on the up and up.....its also alot of fun. AoC has good graphics but im not sure about the community as I have only played the free trial. LOTRO has a good community and its a pretty good game, a little boring for my tastes however. You dont really give us enough info to know what game you would like however.

    Playing: Fallen Earth
Waiting for: Earthrise, Guild Wars 2 and Secret World

just gonna say the obvious.  if wow is your only mmo just stay there.  no one else actually wants you in their game.  in fact most people hate wow kids.    lol  im only j/k

coming from wow id say try eq2.  better graphics and almost identical game play.

Most of the current crop of games have what a lot of people would consider "dying communities", other than maybe LOTRO, EVE or Darkfall. Everybody seems to be waiting on the new batch of games coming out later this year.

I would stick with WoW or give Darkfall a shot (very fun game, the devs are putting a lot of love into it and the pop is growing every day) until games like TOR, FFXIV, MO, and ER come out.

Real life brings repetition and pointlessness too. The only thing real life offers is Great graphics. Its kinda expensive too and way to dependent on the cash shop. Totally pay to win as well. No thank you. Ill stick to my games.

How about quit WOW and maybe play some single player games or nothing at all for awhile?  I have an idea that if everyone who was sick of WOW quit the game, the sub numbers would decrease dramatically......whatever they might be. Boggles my mind how many posts I see along this line.

    Edit: spelling

If you are younger than 21 or older than 60 there is always Runescape with its massive community second only to WoW for you :p

i'm not sure if you were knocking Runescape's community by comparing it to World of Warcraft's community or not. However,  there are a great group of people who play Runescape (with the exeption of a few, although that is to be expected in any game.).

Straying off from the community situation : Its by far the most successful sandbox game out right now with TONS of content to experience, with WEEKLY updates, thats quite impressive in my opinion

I say if you haven't already, give Runescape a try. Its free so you have nothing to loose.

There are people of ALL ages playing Runescape and yes, it is THE MOST SUCCESSFUL f2p mmo in the last decade, sandbox or not. I am not comparing Runescape's community to WoW's in any way. I only stated most players who play Runescape are below 21 or above 60. Of course many players between 21 and 60 play Runescape too. My girlfriend, who is 23, is a big fan of Runescape since she was 14. I 'play' Runescape occasionally with her too. However, I treat Runecape as an entertainment more than a game because I don't feel like chopping trees and mining ores for 20 years is playing a game. So, to me Runescape is a very very successful business and a very good and cheap entertainment.
