I played this game like 5 years ago, and I was wanting to resubscribe for a month to see how things are now. Unfortunately, I forgot my username and password. So I submitted a petition on the website, which was nearly a week ago, and I havent gotten a response.
Is it common for it to take this long to get a response on my petition?
Is there any other way I can find my account username that I am missing? (secret question or something?)
I really dont feel like starting all over on my skills...

How many SP did you have 5 years ago?
With the changes that have been made, you might benefit more from a 14 or 21 day trial, and a new character. You earn the first 1.6 mil at an increased rate, though you don't start with nearly as much SP as you once did. I'd wager the game is a completely different experience than it was 5 years ago.
If I recall correctly, I had enough skills to fly a cormorant(?). Unfortunately I don't recall what else my skills were in. I also had a couple implants, which I seem to remember were expensive and hard to get. Do you still think I would be better off just starting over?

If the best you could fly was a cormorant, you could might as well start over. The cormorant is the destroyer class ship everyone gets at the end of the advanced military tutorial mission. So if thats the highest class ship you can fly, you wont lose much if you start from scratch.
If you stand VERY still, and close your eyes, after a minute you can actually FEEL the universe revolving around PvP.
OK. Sounds like I might as well start over. So I have a couple other questions now. lol.
Should I even bother playing this game again if I have to start all over?
If so:
Anyone got room in their guild for old school n00b?

It's definitely worth bothering. EVE is still growing and expanding, and it's very active. Dont fret about being "left behind". It just doesn't work that way. See any of the dozens of "should I start playing EVE" type threads in the most recent 2-3 pages of this forum.
You should find the game considerably more accessible than when you last played.

Dunno tbh.
Personally I would desperatly want to use my old character. Just having a character with that birthdate would be Kudos!
True, you could probably start again and not have missed much, but man.. I'd do everything to get that account bck
Good point. A petition might work, especially if OP still has the same credit card.
