Purchasing the 12 month package, is it worth it?

You get 12 months for basically $99 dollars, I just bought this without thinking to ask. Of course you get a buttload of special items, but I am starting to wonder was this worth the 100 dollars? What would you all say... It comes out to be 8.25 a month without having to pay box price, and i hear i get the expansion for free.

if you havent played before, tried the trial and you liek it. There is definately enough content to run you that year! you will enjoy it.

In the end whether it was a good deal or not depends on you...as long as you play that 12 months it is clearly a great deal if not...that's the gamble you take when accepting a package like this.
I did it and have no regrets. I RP on Wicanna, server is fun as hell, a true den of ERP fiends.....mwuhauahauhaauhah
at launch you would of regretted it immediately. but now a days the game is pretty freaking cool. so yeah its worth it, now.
game still has bugs galore but its playable and fun.

60 day time cards are available for 12.99-14.99 so that might make more sense if you are unsure.
I got one at my local best buy (they had quite a few more) and am told gamestop has them for 12.99.
Definitely a good deal if you end up playing more than 4-5 months and enjoy the expansion. Basically you've paid the same as you would if you played it for 5 months with a 1-month subscirption cycle and then bought the expansion. The remaining 7 months where you can log on as much, or as little as you want to are just a bonus, and so is The Secret World beta. Including what comes in the expansion, there's certainly a lot more than 5 months worth of entertainment in AoC.
I wouldn't have bought it myself, but I burnt out on AoC a long time ago. If I tried it for the first time now, I would have taken the 12-month offer.
I think it's a good deal, i'm really enjoying aoc's combat and general feel. It obviously won't be a good deal if you quit in a month, but you can at least look at it like this; if a new mmo came out, for around the same price you would only get four months of the game( 50$ box+ 45$ for 3 months.)
And if you end up loving it, then even better.
And if you should find yourself not enjoying it enough to stick around, you still get beta access to The Secret World. I'm thinking of buying a 12 month sub just for the beta key. But I won't.
i don't know exactly what is in the deal but as far as I'm concerned i only get 1 month at a time these days for mmos. I got AoC and played it for my first month and then quickly discovered that the starting area seemed to have been giving a lot more attention than the rest of the game and then dropped my subscription.
Obviously it being a good deal is subjective and others have already said why it could be a good deal but think about it if you start to get bored or just don't like the game later on that's money down the hole. In the end you are really the only one that can determine if it was a good deal or not.
oh and for those saying it's a good deal for a beta key I think that's very wrong. Beta keys are not worthy spending money on esspecially at $100. How do you know you will like the beta game?
you're also getting Rise of the Godslayer for free b/c you bought the 12 month sub, right?
I bought it and i am finding myself drifting away from the game. I don't feel so bad though because i know in a month or two i'll be back and liking it again.
For the per month charge it is great and even if i don't play for a few weeks it doesn't rankle my feathers.
are you sure that offer for getting the items and expac is still valid? I tried looking on forums and saw someone posting today about resubbing for 6 months if the 10%xp gain helm was still being offered and Senek a official aoc rep said the special items were no longer offered but still get the reduced price for the extra time sub
I bought a 3 month subscription ($40) instead of a 1 month one ($15) a while back mainly to get the TSW beta key. Since I'd have gotten the one month anyway (and probably cancelled after that since I've only played it a few hours a month after the first) I ended up paying $25 for the beta key. It's kind of a compromise, since now I won't end up preordering it for $50+ so I can try it out early
Of course, I'll end up paying that anyway if I actually like it, but there's always a chance I won't. Besides, it's worth logging into AoC an hour or two 2-3 days a month. Not worth the subscription fee, but since I've paid for it anyway, I enjoy having the option available to me.

Its a good deal if you like the game I suppose. If not then....
But I just resubbed not long ago and really enjoy AoC in its current state. Much improved for sure.
I play on Wiccana and the population seems good even at lower levels. Alot of good guild to help newer players also.

There are no items as per Famine at the AoC forums. That deal for the helm and beta access is over. However, you can get good deals with the pricing when you purchase more than one month.

No that deal didn't end, cause i just bought this like the day before yesterday, got the helm and beta access. I don't know where you got the impression that that deal was over. Haha.

It's true that the items are still being given out for the sub. I got mine after the deal officially ended as well.
I purchased the 12 month sub back in Nov, and I'm still loving it. I'm biased though, as I am a fan of Howard's Conan in general. In my opinion, voice overs aside, the game as a whole feels on par with Tortage. Just my opinion, though.

So far agreed, except i will have to say solely due to the lack of voice acting there does seem a little less of the immersion factor, but still more so than other MMOs.
newly 80, loving the game... but still lack of things to do.. just raid. make alts and raid with them... or duel in khesh..... oh yeah minis every once in awhile... i get by cuz i have bfc2 and play both ^^
Are you kidding me? This game is not worth $5 a month and there is NOT enough content to last a year. Do NOT believe the blind fanboys her. I followed this game pre beta, was in beta, was in the guild that created the first battlekeep / guild city.
All this company does is hype and promise things, that DO NOT APPEAR ever. And if they do impliment anything its so buggy or poorly thought out it enrages the community, which is so small at this point the game feels so empty. I read posts all the time about people leveling alts because there is nothing else to do. End game of Conan is trolling the forums until your sub runs out.
Take it from sombody who has been there and done that and really wanted to like this game. Its dead, empty, horrible and full of empty promises, take your money elsewhere you wont regret it.

Don't listen to this rambling post of hate. I personally think AoC is great and snapped up that deal straight away. AoC is truely a great game now, the last renown patch was awesome and with the expansion and PVP patches on the horizon it looks good!
But of course don't believe me, give the free trial a go. Simple.

Give the free trial a go? What do Tortage and then be dissapointed when the game drastically changes after level 20? Im not a hater, I was a HUGE fan, but the game fails im sorry but it does. Small, linear, instanced, buggy, hardly 0 end game content, invisible walls, boring combat system, not hating here just saying it like it is. If you enjoy tunneling through small instanced zones , being promised lots of things that sound amazing that never actually make it to the game and being bored out of your mind with complete lack of content once you reach max level, then go ahead, waste your money
