Hunting in PVP

I love PVP. But I don't like so much massive battles and sieges. I'm a much greater fan of hunting. I just love to hunt down my prey, playing cat and mouse with it. I distinguish two types of hunting. You can hunt in groups, like wolfs in herds do or you can hunt individually like tigers do. I'm more a tiger-type of hunter. I just love to hunt my prey alone, just me and my prey.

 

Until now I didn't find a PVP game where you could hunt in this tiger-type of way. Almost all PVP is based on massive battles and sieges and hunting in groups. It is almost impossible to survive in these PVP games if you are alone. You just have to be part of a group of players if you want to do PVP.

 

The closest that I came to this kind of gameplay was on WOW PVP servers. Because on these servers there are a lot players that are leveling solo or in small groups of two. So there is a lot of prey to hunt down. But still the feeling is not quit right, because WOW is still a PVE game.

 

I would love to play EVE. I'm a huge fan of space games, sci-fi and sandbox MMO. But in EVE it is impossible to survive if you are not part of a group of players. I can be wrong but in EVE it's completely impossible to hunt like a tiger.

    it is possible to do everything alone in eve online if you spend some time figuring the game out.

    however you can always get caught by 2 tigers...

    which isnt really bad - you know... its still a multiplayer game. MULTI PLAYER. not singleplayer vs bots.

     

    anyway i think eve is a good game for hunting.

    also you say that wow is still a pve game... well your kind of hunt wouldnt even work without pve.

    id say wow works even better than eve in some sense that you dont get flagged since pvp is faction vs faction.

    face of mankind was also promising before goin live. now its either free or subscription. both are so different that playin it for free isnt even worth it.

     

     but yeah if there is some kind of game that has good hunting type of pvp... id gladly play it.

    Would've suggested EVE immediately after reading first paragraph. The game pretty much requires you to enjoy the hunt because actual fights take a small part of your time.

    Sure you'll often become the hunted when solo, but I was able to find solo targets in factional warfare. Other options might be Red vs Blue player corps (if they fight outside events), hunting players in wormholes or going anti-pirate in lowsec (really careful about looking for suitable targets though).

    You might also find the same kind of excitement by flying as scout for a corp fleet: moving cloaked and reporting intel, scanning down enemies in safespots. Or perhaps running black ops.

     The thing about EvE is is the cost of losing is a lot steeper than it is in Wow.  This is good and bad.

    It's bad for what the OP wants to do.  Unless he wins a lot more than loses.

    You are wrong about EVE. More PvP is about hunting than massive battles. Especially in Wormhole space.

    The loss aspect means that the combat is considerably more intense. There's nothing like the feeling of your first engagement.
