Bill Gates talking Games

Who would have thought.... our quiet little hobby of the last 15 years is really entering the mainstream. In some ways its great and kind of exciting. In other ways I know how Kurt Kobain felt when the music he wrote and loved became the music he hated.... popular music....

Lets hope that when the rest of the world wakes up to the fact that active entertainment is far better than passive entertainment it does not lead the same way as popular music. Persoanally Id rather see some inovation rather than the MMO equivelant of "sampling", originality is all but dead image

    I heard somewhere ... don't know where but they said Bill Gates makes something like $2500 or was it  $200 000 a second? Is that for real?!

    around $250 I believe... well it might have been raised because I heard that like 1-2 years ago. I do know that he makes money in seconds, rather than hours/days/weeks/months.

    Just think about it:

    $250 /second
    $15,000 /minute
    $900,000 /hour
    $21,600,000 /day

    Yeah it does look boring but Hey its kindve cool to see him talk about games IMO. I think the owner of the ocmpany that made Halo 2 has some bragging rights lol.

    PvE in general is pretty lame, if you think long and hard about it. You are spending your time beating a severely gimped AI that would lose to a well trained monkey. Best not to think too long and hard why you are wasting time playing games in general actually...

    Lets hope that we start to see some really good MMORPG's then, as there may be many "good" titles about but nothing "great" that manages to capture my attention for longer then a month.

    No No thats not what i mean... He doesn't seem to know that much about games.... I'm sure he's a genious but that doesn't mean he knows everything...
    Ok most of us here at MMORPG.com can tell a newb when they hear one... Does Bill Gates sound like a newbie or waht?

    I'll give some quotes from his speech..
    1) "Play games on the PC and play games on a dedicated video game"
    - What the heck? for a genious that some pretty stupid stuff

    2) "We want to come out with a new generation of games that will appeal to all ages.... "
    - Does that mean they that Nintendo's generation of games and games past are new?

    3) "More genres uh make it easy to sit down and play easily"
    - Ok what? Because yeah the current games make it hard to to sit down and play hard?

    4) "Taking these great screens and having a uh graphics power behind them both PC and X-Box..."
    - Yeah because current Hi-Def screens dont have graphics power?? WTH??
