I feel a bit had by FE. I just bought the game a few days ago, and the30-day from buying the "box" is only 3 days old. Oh well... Ces't la vie...
I can understand where you are coming from, but this is not a full-fledged promo... it is like a reward to those who are part of MMORPG..it is not available for some of the other gaming sites nor on their website.
It is a promo and a reward for having one of the best, supportive and evolving communities online.
If noone has ever noticed, people who are involved with MMORPG, whether directly or indirectly (like forum posters) really have an impact on the industry as a whole.
Just look at the latest debacles with STO and Allods.

I think we tend to overlook our strengths here and Fallen Earth understands this.
What they are doing is nothing short of ground breaking.
Word of mouth will be huge, more people will tell their friends, more 10 day trials will go out and within a few months, they will have turned a nice profit and got a new loyal fan base to a game that people want to play.
I say Kudos to them.
I'm not complaining about this free box that's given. I know MMORPG drives sales and points potential players to a good game (trust me, FE is a good game).
I'm also complaining about the 50% off which is advertised on their main site now. That makes me kinda feel had, but as I said as well, Ces't la vie. Fallen Earth is worth the $40 I paid, and coming from Europe it's still a lot cheaper than games actually sold in Europe
To a couple that have mentioned not being able to activate the game because you have less than $1 on your card. It requires $1 at least because FE will bill $1 to your account and then credit it back to verify that you have an active account. I have a $1 hit in my bank right now.
I'm so glad I just happened to stop by the website last night before I went to bed, saw the promotion and was like.. wow! free game??
So I spent about 10 mins setting up an account and starting the DL, this morning everything went very smoothly, the patcher did bring up an error but I just left it as it was still downloading a small patch in the background. After it finished I restarted the patcher and everything went very smoothly.
Just finished the tutorial and I must admit I'm very impressed, has a very SWG feel to it.
Thanks MMORPG and Fallen Earth for the opportunity to try this out!
For those that play... did they ever add any kind of player housing? If so, how does it work. IE is it like UO were you can setup a player village anywhere? or is it like LOTRO where there are specific areas.
I'm so happy I was one of the few to get this free key! I absolutely loved Fallen Earth, but the realization that I would be out of the trial in a few days left me depressed and no longer willing to put forth the effort to play. Now I have a full 30 days to play and make something out of the character I'm playing, rather than wonder how to play the game..

Damn, missed out lol. Ah well, I've played before, and the game is a nice change to all the fantasy cookie cutters out there. The combat's a little flawed, but a lot of other aspects make up for this several fold.
I hope this boosts the Dev's sales, Fallen Earth seems like it could be the next EvE.
Ganking? Me!? That's absurd!! I leave THAT to the lawyers!

Not yet, but it is something that is coming. It's not something that they want to rush though so it will probably be a while yet...

It's in the works, but no ETA yet.
They did however introduse the crafting skills that are going to be the base for it. Along with camps.
I only got to play this for 3 days before OB ended lol, was rather sad I missed the chance at one of these keys, until I read that creditcard/payment info was needed to even register and use it. So now after reading here i'm glad I didn't get one, because it would of been wasted and unused :P
So have fun all, and goodluck with not getting charged unexpectedly at the end of the month, since i'm sure there will be people that forget to "unsub" when this key runs out.
