It needs more mobs, as the world is pretty empty.
For every city it should have 2 dungeons around the city. With monsters from newbie,(Slime, rats.) at start of dungeon to l33t monsters at the end of the dungeon. Not just pigs and deer that run away.
It needs allot more items.
It needs a auction house or player ran vendors in cities.
They need to stop going for 100% realism and remember that games are suppost to be fun.
Any one else have any ideas that the game needs for launch?
=p
Sometimes its good to think deep. Some times it good just to play games.

I think they desperately need a chat channel.. it could be general, regional, city.. but people are playing a game... and need to communicate further than 50 feet around them.
Edit to add: No, IRC does not count as an in game chat channel although most of the people who object to having one are the ones that will be hanging in IRC... strange but true..

I think the game just desperately needs to release soon =P. Its Q1 release date is ending. Soon we'll be moving into the second quarter, yet there's still no official word on whether or not this game is even going to be released in time.

While I don't agree with everything you said. . I do for the most part. The world needs to be fleshed out more.
With that in mind. . it is possible that if it was released that player buildings. . keeps etc would be around. Right now with the wipes etc the world has no continuity - so it feels more empty.

If they did that, it would destroy them, pretty much. The same thing that happened with Dark and Light, if you were around back then.

I understand that, but where are they getting all this excess money? From Pre-orders?

I pre orderd. I have hope in the devs. If it dont work out I lost 50 bucks is all. Maybe I'll try http://www.dawntide.net/ As I cant stand UO (To old.) or darkfall. 50 bucks is not allot for suporting the chance at a good sandbox game.

The state the games currently in, releasing it certainly isnt going to bring in anymore money, if anything i expect it would further damage what chances of sales they have, and what reputation they have left.
Those that are going to buy it already have, the rest are waiting to see a lot more.
Holy crap that is the silliest thing I've read here today!
This "game" in nowhere near ready for release. As I posted in another thread this game should have never left Alpha testing much less made public in the current state. DF for all the drama did it correctly: Keep Alpha and Beta testing in-house or closed to a few hardcore testers until you have at least a playable game. MO needed the money so they started selling copies when it still was being Alpha'ed (or should have been). Now they are under alot of pressure to get the game out so they are rushing patches that are doing more harm than good.
They should have never started Open Beta before completing the basics of the game.
TL;DR "If this game is going to work" they need to shut down OB servers and worry about creating the groundwork for this game. When they have a playable world, even if empty, then maybe let the suckers players that paid already start Close Beta.

I agree with you. The game is in really bad shape and isn't ready for release, but pushing back into the second quarter might be the biggest mistake.

It WOULD be a mistake if after the second quarter rolls around and there is still a steaming pile of rotten bits and bytes of MO on your HD that is unplayable. Thats why they should just shut it down until they can release a product worth paying for.

Heya mate, everything you said is getting in expect auction house. The emptyness has got smaller in every patch and items have come, tough not armor yet.
Next patch has said to bring this:
Quote maerlyn: 'Content wise you can look forward to stables and more props, resources and mob spawners - breathing more live into the world of Nave.*
And a lot of optimizationg and critical bug fixes.
You can burn me, but i wont die.
And adding more content on top of a laggy game is going to fix it? I would think adding more mobs and making the world "breathing more live" would cause more lag.
Fix the lag/desync issues first... THEN add the new content. Why do they keep adding on top of a broken system?

If they have found a solution to the lag and desync why not add more content, and it isn't the content what is related to lag mate, it's the database lag caused by the players skill changes and stuff, there is a post about it in the forums. It ain't instantly related to the content. We will see.

I can't agree with the release factor, honestly the game -has- potential in there but releasing the game would be devastating for the community and the developers. They might be peaking some interest with investors which could fund more dev time before release - assumption.

The more polishment they do, the better. They are doing tons better what I really expected as the real release date was end of last year, so much stuff has been added and polishment done, but I do believe that they will release when enough optimization has been done such as game runs smooth, no lag and no desync. Also during the time they fix those the rest of the team will develop more props to the world, fix bugs and add stuff. So overall feeling is that it's doing well.

I have been playing TERA Korean CBT3 - and i must say IT IS POSSIBLE to make WORKING GAME on Unreal Engine 3 (the one used in MO), and make it fun and good looking. Scrapvault screwed up big time, and they wont be able to fix the mess they got. They can't make properly working launcher, they cannot even use SpeedTree right, that is built in into the UE3. Everything they added themselves on the UE3 engine is crappy, buggy and ugly like hell. This is joke of a game and they are joke of a developer.

Lineage II is based off the Unreal Engine and that game still looks amazing.

Gob, I like MO. . having few developers is a reason for the development rate. . but when I play I don't compare the game to others based on the number of Devs. I compare it based on gameplay. I think the game is fine but always saying give them slack they are a small team doesn't make the game better. Again, I like it. and I think it will get better over time but a lot of people are going to wait to play it until it is and move on. . this leaves SV with less money to hire more poeple. . and less changes quickly. .and less subscribers. The game has to last and develop.

I know, but the guy who talked about Tera probably doesn't know that SV didn't set their own bar too high at release.

True, a lot of people don't get it. I just hope enough do.

That would:
A) Be a matter of opinion
Yet to be proven as release is about to happen and we will see if they sink or swim.

I pre-ordered, so they got my money, but I have pretty much given up on the game. I haven't played for over a month and I don't anticipate even using my free month when it releases.
Bummer... My closed beta account was passed around the guild, no one wanted it. Someone had to draw the "short straw".
I win!!! LOL@U
Lets see what Star Vault will bring to the table the coming weeks.
