My Opinion of Aion.
The graphics are great
The gameplay is quite good.
The game is a WOW rip off with better graphics.
However, a MMO is unplayable wihtout support. NCSOFT never answer tickets!
Honestly this company never answer tickets.
Leave this MMO alone honestly its just a WOW rip off with wings, and you only get to fly in limited areas.

LOL, the guy is on a rampage, 10 posts bashing Aion in a row.
Fortunately this guys end up doing a service for this game. People actually see that they are worried with this games success and try to bash it with all means necessary, reaching the point of ridicularity...

I had my account stolen about 2 days ago, picked up a key logger at an Aion fan site. The moment I found out I sent in a ticket and they replied in less then 10 hrs to lock down my account. Now I haven't resolved the proving who I am yet, so I am still account less, but it takes anywhere from 4 to 8 hrs between e-mails. It's not great but horrible it's not.
Aion is a good game and worth the entertainment value. I didnt find support that difficult.
Someone must have been on the high school debate team because I can feel the sheer force that these arguments hit the Aion community with!

Using terms like "wow-ripoff" hardly indicate you actually know what you're talking about.
Aion might not be the best of mmos but NCsoft's support is just fine. I had a problem installing the game and when i needed help NCsoft was awesome helping me out. You might be one of those people who expect everything done for you in 2 minutes, well that surely will not be happening especially in the gaming business.
I had problems with the game crashing in Pand. and a few other places. NCSoft support did TRY to help me, but never did (until it was fixed in a patch. I'd say the support was fine, they just didn't solve my problems through support.
I have been hearing about these unfair bans of people. I can't agree with banning people on the strength of them talking to gold sellers, or having kinah that was bought. That's a bit absurd. If you were caught getting kinah directly from a gold seller, then yes, you deserve to be banned. Getting money that came from a gold seller is dumb. How are you to know if a friend buys gold, then lends you the money? Why would you get banned for talking to gold sellers? Maybe you were cursing the out or something.
These people being banned could be lying, but there are so many posts of people being banned for dumb reasons.
Let me start by saying I play Aion, have a lvl 50, and am having a blast. My position is clear now hopefully lol. Anyway, NCSoft has always responded to tickets. In October I was banned unfairly, this was resolved within 72 hrs and I was given bonus XP for my trouble. Recently I submitted a ticket @ ;7PM it was resolved by 8AM the next morning. Just because the AI resembles wow does not make it a WoW Clone, god this argument is so old and played out. WoW stole tons upon tons of concepts from it's predecessors and many of the ideas in Aion can be traced back to the precursors of WoW not WoW itself. Furthermore, WoW at endgame revolves around instances and BG's - Aion revolves around open world pvp and 6 man grouping. Please come up with more constructive criticism than "it's a wow clone" prior to wasting space with a post.

With that in mind, now look at various MMORPGs. EQ, DAOC, WoW, Aion... Do you still call Aion a WoW rip-off? Or do you go and call WoW an EQ rip-off? Or just realize that a lot of games in the same genre have a lot of shared concepts, but are still quite different?
I tried this game but did not like it.
To much of a grind and the support is terrible
That alone would make me play the game.
As far as them answering tickets, I have reams of answered tickets for all of the gold spammers I reported. Here are just a few I haven't deleted:

Well I don't know. If WoW is such a great game why do I not play it?
My forum fu doesn't seem to be great as I can't seem to come up with a "top released" games list. But it's all subjective anyways. are we using hype scores? Hype scores incorporate numbers before a game is released so perhaps that can alter a game's standing. Reviews? One person's opinion.
What are the top ten games and are they really all that great? And if so then why?
Is it polish, ease of use or that they just cater to a larger demographic.
I think Lineage 2 is one of the greatest games out there but I don't see it in any top 10's anymore. Lots of reasons for that as it is an older game but it still has amazing game play when one goes beyond the base idea of grinding and the horrible economy.

I don't like Aion at all and the grind just like any other F2Ps I have been played before, it is totally different from other P2Ps I have played before. Aion is really a bored game, but I am still playing the 4th month just because I didn't buy new game and haven't seen a mmorpg I want to play at this moment. If FFXIV or Civilization 5 or other fun games released tomorrow, you bet I will leave Aion even I have 29 days left to play.
The game is totally lifeless to me as well as how the NPC looks and the typical F2P armors that you can see from any free to play mmorpg on the market. I didn't see any attractive thing from this game. If you have to say Aion is good game, I will say Aion could be one of the best Free to Play mmorpg if the game cost you nothing to play. But if it is Pay to Play, the game contents is very poor, and the PVP even poorer especially while Aion advertising for a PVP game.
I don't get your logic at all. You don't find anything attractive from this game, yet you have played for 4 months straight because nothing else available looks good to you?
If ice cream costs 10 bucks and I shove a pile of dog shite in your face and tell you its gonna cost you 10 bucks and it's the closest thing to ice cream you have available right now, are you gonna buy it?
I just don't get why you pay for something you bash so much.

If you used to eat dog shite then you won't think you are eating dog shite. I know Aion is dog shite and I wont think it's delicious food. Anyhow, it's tasteless. The combat in Aion is lifeless because the combat engine is same as other 100 free to play mmorpg you can find on the market. The best combat still goes to WOW and Lotro.
You still don't make a lot of sense. If you've never had fun in most MMOs you have played... why do you play them then?
Also I can't help but notice the irony in your last sentence. You bash Aion's combat for being "lifeless", yet a second later praise LOTRO for having the best combat? Aion's combat is much more dynamic and fast paced, and combat animations are much superior.
To each his own I guess, but IMO at least, describing Aion combat as "lifeless" and praising LOTRO for having the best combat can only be said by someone who is trolling Aion, or is a LOTRO blind fanboi.

Sorry but when I had major issues with this game on my old pc NCsoft was there fixing it like good customer service should.
With a yearly income of 160 M US $, NCsoft as a company is indeed not a tiny player. 49% of that amount comes from L1 and L2 43% of that amount comes from Aion, the rest is divided among their other games like GW, CoH etc...
However 55% (!) of that income comes from just ONE small country : South Korea.
It shows painfully clear Aion never got the world wide penetration they claimed.

I would hand them the marketing stunt of the year though ... as for months, even a year, people thought they had millions and millions of players. BTW Aion runs on 41 servers in South Korea (14 in the US).
Want a real mmorpg? Play WOW with experience turned off mode and be Pve_Pvp King at any level without a rat race.

Blizzard on the other hand made more than 1.2 billion dollars. To quote: "Overall, we’re very pleased with our performance over the past year. Our non-GAAP net revenue for the year 2009 was about $1.2 billion .."

And no that 1.2 billion ... was merely the number from pure Blizzard operations (not Activision Blizzard which was more than triple that amount actually).
So the figures speak for themselves: there are simply no multi million players of Aion: figures prove it.
