Not really in the UK there is a series called Grimebusters, which is basically a documentary series on the things the cleaners employed by goverment do. Every week there is one or more houses like this.

Lol, you must have been living in the dorms on Mars. From my personal experience, what guys consider "clean" and what girls do differs very much. By that same token, what guys consider "dirty" also differs very much from the female definition. I'm a clean person by male standards. I live with a female, so I basically leave my bedroom a wreck and keep the door closed, and I keep the living area of my apartment spotless, though I'm not too concerned with vacuuming once a week or anything. All of her girl friends are under the assumption that I'm a slob, but apparently I'm the cleanest roommate she's ever had. I find it kind of sad that a guy who loads his dirty dishes in the dishwasher and takes out the trash is the cleanest guy she's ever known.
