This Poll is in Ref. to another topic somewhere else. Just curious though what the "norm" hrs played by MMO gamers in a week is.

I have the luxury of playing as little or as much as I want to, thanks to a combo of EVE and LotRO. You can train for the Olympics and get a Silver Medal in the Giant Slalom while playing EVE and LotRO is a relaxing leveling experience. I play more than 10-20 hours a week, but not all MMOs; I also play some RTS games, single-player RPGs, and Call of Duty (though Battlefield Bad Company 2 looks pretty sweet).

The one I found was by day.
Which basically says the majority of players play 2-4 and 4-8 hours a day, which would put the majority into the 25+ hour a week bracket. I just want to see what it looks like on a week scale.
I just had someone say that gamers playing in the 30 hour a week range was "very, very, very, far from the norm."
I disagree with that so I wanna see for sure.
I think 30 hour a week gamers are the majority and 10 hour a week gamers are the minority.
i play for 3 mins a day thats it i log in say hello then log out

this way i cant get disappointed in the game play of any mmo
The last couple mmos I was actually interested in I played 35+ hours a week easily.
There's no middle ground for me, I'm either all in 35+ hours a week, or I don't play at all.

I don't think 30 hours a week is all that uncommon. People used to spend that much time watching TV, and nobody thought anything of it. Now we just find our entertainment a bit differently.

I probably play online about 15 or 16 hours a week, which apparently makes me a 'casual' player, wife doesnt agree as she thinks i spend far too much time online already... though anyone who can seriously manage to spend more than 30 hours a week online gaming... ... ... probably isnt married??? lucky devils...
if i look only at mmo that should be 20h per week if take in account other steam games that should add 10-15 more

Answered 30-35 but that only happens when there is an MMO I am really interested in. Currently there isn't.
I probably spend 5-10 hours a week here lately between Solitaire, Mahjong and Mindsweeper.

If i'm really into a game or it's all new to me, I put in about 6hrs a day, 7 days a week.. add that up and i'm "hardcore" I guess.. but on average i'd probably say 30hrs, so that's what I voted.
I'd play more... but I'm stuck with a cheap laptop using Celeron and cheap DSL internet.

Most weeks I don't play games at all, only occasionally will I play a game in a 6-8 hour stint. So I guess that makes me ultra casual.

The MMo's I'm playing is quite boring, so I dont put in as much time to play em. But if there's a game that really keeps my interest I'll probably do about 30-40 hours a week, currently i'm around the 10-20 hours a week right now.

While right now I'm not playing at all, I answered what I typically have done in the past when playing an MMO. I don't have time for anything more than casual play. I actually have a life and a family and friends that come before anything I'd ever do online. 10-20 hours a week at a maximum is all I can dedicate to a game and honestly, I wouldn't want to do more than that.
Played: UO, EQ, WoW, DDO, SWG, AO, CoH, EvE, TR, AoC, GW, GA, Aion, Allods, lots more
Relatively Recently (Re)Played: HL2 (all), Halo (PC, all), Batman:AA; AC, ME, BS, DA, FO3, DS, Doom (all), LFD1&2, KOTOR, Portal 1&2, Blink, Elder Scrolls (all), lots more

I spend about 20 hours a week gaming.
I play for an hour, maybe an hour and a half most weeknights after work, but I can easily put in a solid 6-7 hour session on a lazy Saturday or Sunday. I tend towards console games during the week and save my weekends for MMOs or PC RPGs.

Why is 40 the highest option available? Thats not that hardcore to me, thats just addicted but nothing more.
When i had no job or school my xfire hit 90+ hours in one week playing WoW.
Thats when i realised i was wasting life and quit playing as much.
Edit : Eh, right... With a full time job, 40 hours is pretty hardcore, nevermind.
Now that I'm just waiting for FFXIV I'm just dabbling in free to play MMOs here and there.
Man I spend a lot more than 40 hours a week in mmo's.
