Hello,
After playing this game for around 45 minutes as a warrior named Jhonen on Ares I have to say it is everything I thought it would be. First off this isn't your typical MMO and as for those who say the graphics look old and dated it is because they are. The game it self was released in Japan back around 2006.
To start my review the game only has three classes which I do see a downer but each of the three classes have different skills which branch off after level 3 into other skills. I find this skill leveling system interesting. You can also only be human. This is somewhat a downer as well but in most single player final fantasy games or other RPGs your character is human or a form of being human. BTW the classes are Sorc. Warrior, and Scout. Sorc. use magic of course, warriors use melee attacks and Scouts use bows+daggers.
As for the game play. It is PS2 controller via USB port compadible (I know I can't spell). This was sort of cool but I still like the keyboard and mouse set up. Overall the game it self plays like a single player Action RPG. The game reminds me of Final Fantasy: Crystal Bearers to be honest. The music is very much final fantasy like. I also enjoy the real time combat, not the push key 1 to start attack key 2 to do special attack, key 3 to do another attack, key 4 to do potion, key 2 to do attack etc etc. The combat is real time and real targeting etc. This was a breath of fresh air, the only other two games I have seen have similar combat is Spellborn and DDO. I have played both and both are fun but this has a uniqueness to it I can't explain.
PVP, the PVP is amazing. It takes skill and timing and knowing what you are doing to participate. The game isn't just PVP as the game ads make you think though, it does have PVE as well. I am enjoying this game. I was going to review the other day after I made my first character but I decided to wait and make another to make sure I wasn't liking it just because it is new and different.
If you are looking for a mmo that feels like a single player RPG this is for you, that is if you don't mind the dated graphics. To be honest I am playing it on my PC at max settings and it doesn't look horrible, not wonderful but not horrible either. As I said it reminds me of a single player action RPG with other people hanging around. You can party and group up and what not as well.
Thanks for reading,
Dustin

Even for 2006 the graphics are way to outdated, LOTRO which is arguably the best looking MMO on the market just came one year later, there's no denying that the graphics well just suck.
As for it being a single player game, the PVE put in simple terms sucks and there isn't much RPG going on at all so i strongly disagree with you saying it's like a single player RPG.
The tutorial is much different than what the meat of the game has to offer. If I hadn't exited the tutorial after 5 minutes, I probably would of uninstalled the game then and there... Turned me off almost immediately.
Luckily, the war aspect saved it greatly.
its exit tutorial in 5 min for war, or u go throught all the tutorial to find the gem in this game. since its only the last part of it, the yellow letter quest. that teach the basic of what this game is about. i would advise to do the tutorial to the end. even throught its annoy because of the limit on how many ppl can do the yellow quest at any given time. that quest teach you how to play the basic of this game. the fighting part, u will get use to how to aim in this game to fight after a while. too bad u cant do much about those lagger that lag on purpose, but a lagger wouldnt be doing much to help win the war, just annoy those who is trying to kill him/her. wonder if gamespot would do a ip ban for those that would have high to help with the lag. really doubt that since it cut down on income.
as long as you dont mind the graphic being outdated, ppl should at least try this game out.
