I've always liked the look of EVE but living in the Uk means for us its more roughly a 1/3 more expensive than most other mmos . While there are UK players most people I know of avoid it for the simple fact it would cost them roughly 5 pounds more a month to play than the normal subscription fee . While i could afford the fee I just feel that its not really worth it for me personaly . I only tend to play an mmo for an hour or two a day and lets face it the way things are now for most of us money isn't as plentyful as it was a few years ago . In fact the normal 8.99 sub is worth it in a very small number of games only Warcraft(which I can't stand in its present form) and Lord of the Rings spring to my mind at present . I know you can buy free game time for isk but I would imagine the amount of time you would have to be playing the game before that became possible would be long and even then it would require playing many many hours a day . I doubt if the game with ever be payable in British currency so sadly it will a remain a no go area for huge number of UK players .

GOSH really, because I knee deep in Brits everywhere I go in EVE, the large corperations we are allied with have very large numbers of Brits, the conversion is even worse for us Australians compared with the Poms but loads of us are there...
Find your specualation on the demographics of paying customers in relation to their currancy to be rather based on what you are willing to do, rather than actual facts of any sort.
I would play 25 bucks a month to play eve... Wait I already pay 45 (3 accounts).
Yeah Eve is worth it!
Playing: Rift, LotRO
Waiting on: GW2, BP
you have other options, like buying timecards from the US, they arrive in your email and you can activate them, its what I used to do before I switched to paying by plex's
15 bucks a month is the cheapest entertainment you can get. if you can't afford it maybe sacrfice a little on other things to save those extra 6 bucks you are short on? hell i spend double on pizza for one night.
If the difference between paying 48p a day and 30p a day is that important to you then maybe you shouldn't be spending your time playing games.
Additionally, you dont have to pay £40 for the game itself. It'll be 8 months before your standard £39.99 + £9/month MMO is cheaper than EVE. By then, if you're so inclined, it is easily possible to generate 260M a month to buy PLEX so that you can play for free.
So after 7 months:
Standard MMO: £39.99 + 6x £8.99 = £93.93, then pay £8.99/mo
EVE: E20 + 2x E39.99 (3 month sub price) = ~£90, then play for free.
Give me liberty or give me lasers
EVE with one month actually did cost me £2 with the steam deal.
/agree on this also OP dide u notice that your thread title is damn long, normal threads dont have the title so big
BestSigEver :P
Yes it does work out more expensive.
But.
Unlike other MMO's you can pay for your subscription with in-game money!... the reality is that it doesnt take much Eve playing to make this a reality.
Do you seriously think people with 7+ accounts are paying real money for them?
That's true when I played more I was supporting my third account through plex. Now im lazy and just pay for them or unsub one here and there.
The whole Plex thing is pretty cool in Eve.
Playing: Rift, LotRO
Waiting on: GW2, BP
You can buy gametime codes from various North American sites. That's what I do anyway.
Waiting on Xsyon & betaing stuff
Sorry to hear mate.
I have two accounts, and I can farm ISK to pay for my sub.
And I am a father of 3 with a 60 hour a week job and I spend time with activites with my family.
It's not hard, once you get the skills to make it a possibility.
And I know tons of Brits as well in EVE, more than most other MMOs I have played.
Half my corp is Brits...I'm going to have to tell them EVE is too expensive to play and they'll have to quit.
