A couple of end game questions.

Got the 30 day key here from mmorpg and so far it's been a lot more enjoyable than I expected.

So I got to watching some pvp video's the other day and noticed that many of the people in those videos had hotbars totally filled up, in the last video I watched, a guy had 60 abilities on this long row of hotbars. Now I'm all for having options in combat but that seems a bit overkill. Now my question is, does everyone have that many abilities end game or was this fellow just specced in multiple weapons? (My guy is melee, if that matters)

I guess my other question isn't really end game, but in the later sectors is pvp forced? Or are you allowed to remain neutral?

I would ask these questions in game myself but I've been booted out of the help channel (I guess after so many levels you get kicked?).

PvP is restricted to certain areas, and I hear they will be adding some kind of clan pvp system later on.

As for hotbars and skills.. Oh yes.. there are quite a few of them. At level 5 you can have almost 3 full bars if you want (that's what I currently have with my level 5), all stuff for different situations, and single use buff/health items, food/drinks, etc can also take up more space.

You have mutations (when you join a faction you open new lines of them even, so there are a lot more than the alpha stuff you start with), social skills (taunts and debuffs and stuff), group skills (aoe group effect skills), medic skills (heals, buffs, resistances, etc), melee skills, rifle skills, pistol skills (you can use only one weapon type, better that way actually), athletic skills (self buffs for attributes and such, skills to escape or run away faster, etc), various stances (which change offensive or defensive attributes), armor skills (more debuffs and buffs, also a knockdown which is useful), hmm.. probably others, having a brainfart

Wow...that is unfortunate, I really got in to this game surprisingly but I have enough trouble fumbling around with two hot bars let alone 6, wish I used the trial instead of the 30 day key now.

its  not really at intimidating as it may sounds 30 levels away from max... this is one of the great strengths of FE, its learning curve. you get to do anything the game offers completely at your own pace.  dont worry about trying to accomplish every task you can find at level 6.  just explore and support the direction you find yourself going into.  the variety of viable builds is quite broad, so long as you avoid false start development.  just take alook at the skills, stats, and tradeskills, and plot a general outline for what you think you might enjoy at the start. as long as you dont deter too much from your initial vision, youll have a fun and challenging ride no matter what path you choose.

That's what I've been doing, if i recall I'm either level 8 or 9 and it's been fun so far, but I would like to be able to keep up with other people in pvp situations, it's not so much the game with all the abilities so much as it's with the fact I fumble with the buttons trying to do what I intended to do. It's a great game (in my opinion) but it's a bit too advanced in combat options for me to be anything more than a target dummy for more competent people.

Overkill is deffo the word for it. The only thing I really don't like about FE is the buff reliance, and how many there is. Every mutation is a buff, the choice in going rifle/pistol/melee comes with their own buffs, and there's a social/group tactics skillset that's all buffs too. Way too much micromanagement, makes me glad there's only a single food/drink buff.
