My system can barely run it with all the bugs and motionblur and crashes. Doubt that computer can run it very well, maybe at minimum settings. You would get very VERY low FPS if it ran at all.
Pentium 4 3.0GHZ 2 Gig ram Video card is the best I could fit into this dell at this age.
NVIDIA Geforce 8800 GT
Any chance at a playable experience??
I would guess yes. an 8800GT is not a weak card by any means. You'll likely have to do the same as I do with any higher-end games - turn off shadows, go down to High textures from Extreme, turn off Specular lighting, and it'll be fine.

Turning off all of that will make the night time in the game end up looking like this
I would say your at the minimum specs for the game but it will depend on the resolution your running also. Wait for the next patch for some expected fixes/patches and give it a shot.

Why are people confident that Starvault will fix the problems in the next patch? Just look at their history, every time they have promised something, they botch it up. This will be the 9th lag/desync patch they have released.

Yes I think you can, but on lowest texture and you have to increase your virtual memory to2,5 times your RAM. I got a 3,5 year old Dell. On monday we will see a patch hopefully fixing most of the lag issues and the desync. I recommend you try MO after that patch.
2,6GHz dual core
4GB RAM
500MB graphic card. (You will most likely need +500MB)
At minimum settings it should work, but you should consider 2 extra gigs of ram, they don't cost much and will give you a big boost.
Another thing you could do is overclocking your GFX card, as long as it have good cooling you can get a lot of extra juice from it. Here is a helpful guide: www.overclock.net/graphics-cards-general/112-guide-overclocking-your-gpu.html Don't overclock the GFX cards memory if they have no cooling on them. If it is a good card (like the old MSI 8800GTX card I had ) you should be able to run it like a 8800 Ultra, it will make a big difference.
Your machine is pretty close to mine. The Beta was definitely playable for me as of today. I could play for a while with no lag at all. I would hit "speed bumps" when moving cross-country, probably when the game was loading new terrain textures. My HDD would crank at these times, so obviously it was because my 2Gb of RAM had filled up, and the game was swapping into virtual memory pretty heavily. Sometimes it would crash in the middle of one of these episodes. This could have been because I had done something dumb with my virtual mem settings. Or it could indicate memory leaks and poor coding in the client. I don't know. So was it butter-smooth? Nope. But I wouldn't say it was unplayable.

/noway. I play all my games - including MW2 - with these performance tweaks, and they look great day or night. I actually prefer the specular off, as that adds an unnatural glow to everything. With it off, the lighting looks a lot more realistic to me.
Adding 2gigs of ram to his current configuration will only increase the bottleneck created by that ancient single core processor, which is without a shadow of a doubt going to be the cause of the majority of performance issues the user will see.
I personally think the OP would be better off just replacing the entire system with something more modern, but that is just my opinion.

Have to agree, he isn't even able to fully utilize the 8800. But, the video card would be adequate in another system.
Thanks guys for all the tips. How do I increase virtual memory to 2.5 ?
also someone suggest a memory manager.. where is a link for a good one of those that is easy to use/explain (hopefully free)
Ive formatted my computer 10 times and I got nortons uptodate but it seems ALWAYS (mostly Firefox) at somepoint errors out quickly and wont let me run untill I reboot and windows internet explorer as well sometimes and it takes forever to load pages sometimes on either Firefox or IE.
I have no idea what is boging down my system... or cause Moxfire to just CLOSE (Error out) for no reason and then not work untill I reboot...

Love u guys
Just goggle "set pagefile size" or "setting virtual memory" it varies slight based on what version of windows. It's possible you have a bad NIC,Cable or some other hardware related issue. I wouldnt bother with a memory manager.
but in the end i think its firefox itself or abp because i get the same issue and it only have been doing that since 3.6 or its a publicity hack i havent filtered trough abp since most line of web program i dont know what all thoase line do i dont block all the line just in case i block the website itself
if you ask me most site use about 50% too much publicity witch gurt performance most assume people got 1 mb/
when i fact its often 640 kb/sec so the actual speed detected is often 64 kb/sec dowload speed.
i used to like this site but now there is so much publicity even me i cant get this site on days so i might have to find an alternative.

Try the open beta while you still can! Just a few days left until release so take this opportunity to see for yourself.

just add 2 more gig of ram if you can and you ll do good
those 8800 puppy are way better then most gamer give them credit for!
i still have one in the closet i only traded it because i wanted a dx11 card (grin)yep silly i know since most game are still serial
my new ati 5770 parallel power is completelly uselless
its maxed in some game on the serial side but if i think about parallel power of this card its working about 10% of its total
capacity !(so im good for the next 10 or 15 years with this card!
