I'm hoping to be busy enjoying FFXIV(I hope it releases in 2010) too much to bother getting SWTOR.

I'll be affected by not being affected at all. And continuing to live out my life.

I keep seeing the word 'delay', as if there is a currently estimated release date which is going to be changed. This is not the case.

    - They've got a lot of funding

    - They want to make sure that they have a complete game

    - Games such as Age of Conan and Warhammer were great games:

    - But really, I hate to say this, but they got boring after a month.

    - They want a fun game with balanced PVP
So, as you can see, Star Wars: The Old Republic is going to get delayed until Spring 2011. Personally I'm excited because when it gets released, I'll have a fun game that I can enjoy for the years to come. I'm going to be very busy in 2010, so a 2011 release date is a bit of a release. Luckily, they have a release date for us, what if 2011 got here and they still didn't have a release date?

I tend to wonder what your bullet points actually say as they are subject to interpritation and are also mostly just opinion, I'm not going to even touch on that if they feel they need the time great just release a decent game as soon as you can.

Now the decision shouldn't effect me much at all if Cryptic can get there heads out of there nether regions and get to adding some content to STO I'll have that to play for atleast half that time.

but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....

    - They want to make sure that they have a complete game - yes, but this point has been expressed so many time that its not thread worthy

    - Games such as Age of Conan and Warhammer were great games: - and what does that have to do with anything?

    - But really, I hate to say this, but they got boring after a month. - your expressing your last point with another point with a miniscule detail, why?

    - They want a fun game with balanced PVP - PvP hasnt even been talked about for SWTOR, the focus on this game is story and they are gonna take a long time to make this game for that reason, not for balanced PvP

The fact that they want to release a completed game is still worth mentioning. And I promise you, Bioware and Lucas Arts have PLENTY of funding for this game. Are you mildly retarded or what? lol.

Age of Conan is a fun game, but it does tend to get boring due to a small community and lack of content. They're obviously working on that though, as the game has come leaps and bounds towards being polished and having great content. I'm playing AoC now and enjoying it.

I agree, balanced PVP isn't what they're going for with SWTOR, as it is based mainly around storyline. However, all of these people stating that this game will be single-player type game with co-op options are completely wrong, as SWTOR will have every aspect of the MMO genre, only with the extra's of a storyline as if in a SP game.

The game with the most delays that actually finally released....

    Darkfall.

I"m just sayin, the longer you take, the crappier you can make it.

    Delays =/= better game.

Either it will be good when it releases or it won't, but development time doesn't equate with a quality game.

ALL MMORPG development works like this:

We got funding. Yay! We want to make this game with 1 bazillion tragillion features!

Ok, we spent half the money, but we're no where near 1 bazillion features. We need to refocus, and concentrate on the most important features.

Ok, we spent all the money. But the games not finished. Oh shit. Can we plez haz moar monies to finish the game?

We got more monies to finish the game! Yay!

Uh, oh. We spent all the monies  on booz and hookerz again, but we wanted to ad a few more features.

Can we haz more monies to finish the game? Plez?

Oh noes! The bastards won't give us moar monies! Guess it's release time.

I know this was sarcasm, but im going to throw this out there anyway.. :P

We all "know" the world is supposed to, going to will end.. in 2012.. Why?

Because the Mayan calandar says so.

But here's the main thing the ppl who "Discovered" this forgot to mention..

The Mayans were very big "Believers" and weird about it at that. The Mayans  had a calandar that was made during a time that their civilization was on a form of collapse, they feared 1 thing.. Judgement and it was told by them that at the end of their Calandar Judgement would come.. and in doing so they thought it meant the end of their ppl.. So.. what did they do?... The samething we would do..

they made another Calandar, a calander that was much longer and suited their ppl better.... So they would not have to face judgement...

So if this Calandar is over in 2012, and the other Calander was Shorter, then the world should have ended already... Hence, 2012 Debunked.

Yeah, they never said it was going to end.  They just didn't feel they needed to keep creating more years.  So they just got lazy and that's just where they stopped....

Wish it was sooner but rather them take their time and launch a decent game.
