I've had better luck with lag in Darkfall than any other siege warfare type games. I read Runes of Magic has a siege expansion coming out if you don't mind F2P.
Darkfall sieges aren't bad as long as you have a decent computer, man.
But really, there are no other games, to my knowledge, that support battles as LARGE as Darkfall atm. I mean, what good is a lag-free "siege", if there's only 20 people total in the fight??
I do not want to turn this thread into a debate about Darkfall. I have played Darkfall, since the beginning of EU and I am looking for a better siege experience.
I would be ok with instanced if it wasnt laggy.
Even a game that limits siege numbers to 50-100. As long as the goal is team oriente6 months agod combat with specific objectives. Unique characters and skills is a plus.
I do want an online game.
How is the performance of Lineage 2, AOC (currently not 6 months ago), Mortal Online? Anything in Beta look promising?
Maybe Kingdom Under Fire II will be that, who knows. I guess it is supposedly released this year and should have massive warfare as an integral part of its online experience. Thus, if you don't mind the art style and believe in their promises, then it might be a game for you. Also, I think that most hiccups of Aion's large-scale battles have been fixed and it could also be relatively lag free.
Ok so I am waiting for the incoming flames but I have to recommed AION. Ok so ppl may come tear me down, but in all honesty I have NEVER crashed during a fortress siege and only get minimal lag. yes I turn down my graphical settings all the way, but you are talking 200 vs 200 at times, so this is no surprise. I am running a 2.4ghz quadcore with 2 4870s in crossfire, so not the top of the line at this point and everything still runs great. As far as large scale sieges go I have never had a better experience. By the way I am lvl 50 and have experienced all the content in the game at this point so it's not like I have just been to 1 siege I go multiple times a week.
DAOC i am bummed I missed this game. Too bad its time has passed.
In terms of the number of people playing, they clustered the servers and the server population is great. That said, the community is completely sucky. If you aren't a high RR player, you are pretty much on your own until you get there.

That, and the game is almost nothing like what it was when it was good.

Age of Conan has some lagfree sieges, all depending on your PC, and the server you play on. Fury seems to have some larger problems atm.
Look here for siege: (Feburary)
I dont want some I want most.

Mount & blade for singleplayer since you didn't ask for anything online.
You could try It's expansion warband, releases the 30th with online capabilties, up to 64 players at a time.
For the size and scope nothing has ever beat Darkfall.
A few games like AoC have instanced siege mechanics but they have traditionally had worse problems than DFO.

Can anyone who plays Aion confirm this?
I dont suffer from lagg either in DF, I have a half decent pc.

Maybe guild wars
but Darkfall is pretty much the epitome of siege pvp

I played DAoC ~2 years ago and sieges were a complete slide show
You must have been playing an entirely different game, or have a computer from 1999
I still play and experience no regular game disrupting lag during sieges.
