Will we get to drive the vehicles in the game?

And will we also possess the ability to pick up passengers (unlike many other MMOs)? This will be a Grand-Theft-Auto-esque MMORPG (except that we're the good guys), won't it?

Warning: I could be on NoDoz caffeine pills so I hope I don't post anything outrageous!

I dedicate this song to The Matrix Online & Asheron's Call 2 -- the games I hoped to play someday but had bit the dust before their prime.

    lol, however cool that would be, its not going to happen. theres no vehicles now, and there probably wont ever be since you can just hardline jump from spot to spot and cant go across bridges to downtown or international area, so theres no point to have a vehicle.

    The MxO Faq sais on it

    The launch version of The Matrix Online will not have player-drivable vehicles

    so i guess there will be a expansion for it. It would be cool to recreate a gret moment from the second movie of a high speed chase.

    I like the idea of a high-speed chase. As for being GTA-esque, that's what I have GTA for. The problem I've thought of for this idea is you'd have people all over the place slinging cars about and it might look a bit ridiculous if everyone everywhere was speeding down back alleys, etc. From a technical view point, cars are currently run on the client side not the server. So there would be an additional server load to running thousands of crazy drivers all over the place. *shrug* If they can implement it in a way that's managable and not a ridiculous mess then I'm all for it. But if they can't then I'm fine without it.

    Nope. Never will happen. Hardlines are everywhere. Those are your method of transportation.

    Besides. You can HyperJump great distances or HyperSprint long distances so they won't add this. 

    The reason I say it will never happen. The matrix development team have made it very clear that nobody will have possesions such as apartments, vehicles as it defys the purpose of why you're back in the matrix.
