Anyone else have this issue? I registered last night, downloaded and (slowly) updated the trial. But while I can log in at the AoC website, the game keeps claiming that my password is wrong.

Check these 2 things.
1. Go into your AoC account page, and check your game status. Are you frozen or cancelled?
If everything is ok and it says "playable"
2. Make sure your caps locks is not on.
If the caps lock is not on.
Then I am out of ideas, This happened to me twice in my time in AoC.
First time, my sub ran out, and I had to reup my sub before I could log in.
Second, my caps lock was on and I didn't notice it until about 10 login attempts in.
DOH!
My password works just fine - for logging into Accounts. It's just the game client that refuses to accept it. The password entered in each is identical; I used copy-paste to be certain of that. And yes, my status is "playable".
This is my second (and probably last) shot at a AoC trial, the other being that PC Gamer debacle where FunCom pulled the plug before we even got the disc. This isn't inspiring any confidence in me.
Hi
Have in mind that password for your account, the forums and the game could be totally different. Try changing your game password from your acc page.

OK, I'll give that a shot. Although, since I haven't changed anything on Accounts since I registered, they ought to be the same.
Edit: game password changed, still get "Authentication failure".

Try again a few times, sometimes there's a bit of lag with the account service and it takes a while to update.

Hi
Then forward your issue to account@ageofconan.com to contact the support team.
Regards
Final solution: dump and re-install from scratch. It worked after that.
