i'm gathering data about what internet connection types/speeds MMO players have. I understand this isn't a scientific poll, but i would like to try to get an idea of the breakdown especially between dialup and broadband users.
Please vote for the connection speed that is connected to the computer that you play MMOs from (don't vote for the T1 you have a work please unluss you play your MMOs from there ).
Also, for those who are on dialup connections could you respond with 1) whether broadband is available in your area and 2) if you would consider upgrading to broadband if there was an MMO out that required it.
thanks everyone!

1.6mbit NTL (uk)
Verizon Online DSL. puts out a little over 3MB up
Actually, cable falls into two categories: Generic and High Speed. The latter is very fast and in fact, is faster than most types of DSLs of which there are about 4 popular flavors. Satellite is yet another option that folk in the country who can't get DSL sometimes opt for.
As for me, I am on High Speed Cable.
2mbit - Zen Internet (UK).
Brilliant provider.

ADSL here using a Router to give us 2 connections.
If ADSL were not available for me then Cable would be a good secondary choice.
Why? With ADSL you don't share bandwidth with everyone else that is in your "trunk" like is done on Cable.
When my dad first connected in a new area with Cable it was every bit as fast as ADSL but the more people that were added in his area the slower the internet became.
I'm not against Cable... was just stating the facts in this area.
Enjoy!
Well i got good old SBC YAHOO DSL!
Which is pretty good i got no clue in hell wat the bandwith is but the times i checked its like 1.5 MGs i think thats pretty good since im paying like 30 bucks any other good deal in the sandiego area

I *WISH* I had FIOS DSL from Verizon, but that won't be out in my area for a year or so. It'll blow Cable/Basic DSL out of the water. 5 up, 15 down for FIOS DSL . Check it out
...... u all know way too much. i am really good at computer hardware, but i really really dont know too much about my DSL.
Shouldnt this be in Off Topic???????
