My first major mmorpg experience was eq1, but my fave to this day was earth and beyond. I still miss it, and every new game I play I compare it to e&b. I like to tradeskill. getting prints and building was my focus in e&b. I was a raid leader and did the major combat thing, but at heart I just killed crap to get stuff to print and build. Every patch day I was out to look for new drops. I havent found anything out there that allows me to do this anymore. Are there any games where someone can be a builder and a warrior at the same time?

The online games I miss:
Raider Wars- Played this back when I was on dial up. Nice interesting 3d space game I played in the past. Too bad they took it down for ever.
Silent Death Online- A top down shooter like subspace where you could actually upgrade your ship and weapons.
Planet Iridium- I was not able to play this game because I did not have a video card that supported OpenGL. When I finally got a card that supported OpenGL, the game got taken down.
Pretty much mostly 3d space flight sim games I miss.
Legends of Kesmai, I really had alot of fun with a few of my buds in that game... wish someone would put it back out with updated graphics or hell just put it back out.
Good game. Was there the day they shut the servers down
Best death system *EVER*

boozek you might try eve online (i'm sure you heard of that one). it is not for everyone, but there is a free trial to check it out.
EVE Online has no restrictions to what your character can learn, do or master.
As if you didn't know this already.
I hate to tell people this but this ain't no "try this game" thread.
Lets stick with the main subject shall we?
A game I was sad to mourne over when it met under 100 suscribers was phantasy star online for the gamecube. It was so cool to have your gamecube online at the time but lack of 3rd party support made the modem adapter for the console cease to exist and therefore, patches and content for the game stopped. I had goddamn 3000 hours on my level 200. Great game.

My first ever MMORPG was a game called Last Kingdom.....and it got canceled unfortunately. Netamin was the one holding the english version of the game. Awesome great game with killer gameplay. Too bad it no longer exists in english. It was an awesome game.
oh yes it is a try this game thread
Everquest 1 as it was originally intended: every class having certain strengths and weaknesses. Only wizards can teleport (druids too) between zones. Clerics get gate. Only clerics can Rez. The bazaar did not exist. There were no books that allowed anyone to move from zone to zone. In PvP, nukes counted.
Tis a shame what a company can do to a game that is intended to do one thing and do it very well (no slaps for the PvP clause above please). Sony put a hurting on a hardcore game that provided immersion like no other.
Earth and Beyond. I'm still missing that game. Nothing else out there was like it. I've tried a few other mmo's since the sunset but nothing else has caught my attention like EnB did. Maybe it will make a comeback one way or another. Dunno...
The game i miss is Motor City Online. This game was awesome. Racing, building, buying new cars and upgrading them to drag race, or run around regular tracks...this was awesome.
Man i miss it....Damn you EA!!
The game I miss most ... Meridian 59. Sure, it is still around but it is NOT the "old" Meridian 59. (I.e. the community is not what it was, the game is not what it was).
I had years and years of experience playing BBS games and the like, but Meridian 59 was my first true Internet MMORPG (massive at the time, anyway). I'll tell you, it was like the first girlfriend/love/whatever (choose your cliche) ... it will always hold a place in my heart that NOTHING after will ever truely replace.
Here's to the quest that is "chasing the dragon" ... never able to "equal" that first experience, even in technically and socially better games.
Spooooon!!!!
I do miss Wish on these days..The developers called off it in beta stage.. I had a great deal of fun with my friend in that game, we traveled around and tried to take part in Quest..It has still great importance for me.
I go to visit the website which has our screenshots and memories while I miss it much..If you played it and miss it and look for something belong to Wish here's the web address:Ttiberius You can also leave your mark in the link given in website..

Online Games that I miss:
- Space Simulation: Freespace 2. (Online Servers gone.)
Had a lot of very well done missions.
- MMORPG: Priston Tale.
Even with all its' shortcomings, this was a decent game. Too bad that they didn't let you BUY the good items once you passed level 30 to 40. Sad that they had level 6 items drop on a regular basis in a level 55+ required area.
- Other: Descent 3. (Online Servers gone.)
I overplayed this game to the point where I got burnt out on it.
Pre-Kunark EQ and LDoN EQ...remove all non-LDoN/non-pre-Kunark zones, put the bazaar and a nerfed PoK who have only a few links portals, bazaar, freeport, qeynos, deep inside Felwithe with instant death for KoS, deep inside Dark Erudite city(dont recall the place name) with instant death for non-evil.
Basically remove the overly tedious aspect, rework raiding in an independant system that dont affect solo or grouping...should you add new continents, if you add a portal to this continent, it should be less interesting then a wizard or druid port by far, like deep inside a dungeon, a high bee or invi toon can walk out, but well, a port would be much better for them. Instead of boats have a fun pun for travel, like a mini game, the cheaper you pay, the longer it will take, and you actually need to run that mini game. Like water skying behind dolphins if you have good relation with the droods NPCs(dolphins can win levels according to how you perform, which in turn you can buy them new powers for the next time to try to earn more levels, maybe even a combat system with sharks(and you waiting like a pre they need to defend) and you keep the same dolphins time after time, with faster or more beneficials but more dangerous road), rowing in a boat for a small pay, and faster travels way for other peoples, or funnier mini game like playing poker/other games on a boat if you pay passage. Dont keep players waiting, rowing or playing poker is much better then waiting. Allow players time to finish their mini game once they arrive, dont kick them on the docking bay, yet let them know they are arrived and can bail out and declare they lost if they want.
But yes, I miss pre-Kunark(no raiding feature/loot) and LDoN...

Dragon Empires

Ultima X Online (UXO)
Ultima Online 2 (UO2)
Wish
In War - Victory.
In Peace - Vigilance.
In Death - Sacrifice.
Think Roin picked out games I would miss, those Ultima Online games would have been massive. It is the grand daddy of mmorpgs and rightly so.
I miss 2 games that I never played.
Megawars III ......
Most of you people were probably in diapers
I miss Multiplayer Battletech 3025. Was just at beta stage but this game was so promising. Damn %µ$## EA canceled the game (yes, EA sucking again). Drives me mad when I think about it but well...
I dont miss EQ btw, even if I was dumb enough to play it for years.
