NEO online

Lately i have came back to the impossible task of trying to find a new mmo.

I would rarely try to promote a mmo on any forums but i noticed that nobody seems to know about this game on here.

I stumbled on NEO online and i must say i am pleasantly suprised, i played till level 5 so it's not like i experienced everything. If i could describe it using other known games i'd say it is a mix of mabinogi and a more wow-ish mmo with WASD controls and pvp. It's a sandbox mmo from what i understand, there is combat but it's only a small part of the game. There are no classes, you build your character how you want it to be.

The graphics are very colorfull, it's not usually my cup of tea but it won't keep me from giving it a chance. The engine runs smoothly and it controls well, plus the combat is pretty responsive.

My man beef with the game right now is that the translation isn't all that. You get what the npc's are saying but it's like the game was translated by Yoda at times.

Here is a vid of the pvp, looks like it can get pretty large:

Here is the link to the game:

I honestly checked out the link to give it a shot and make up my mind, was expecting to see some char skills, looks, game play. This vid was like a mirror image of Mario preview. I don't think anybody can decide anything from such videos.

The graphics is very much like Sonic the woot. I'd give the game play a shot .. once I work my way down the list of "games to try".

Thanks for the info. It certainly had more flashs than a typical fireworks display.

Sonic? Mario? What are you eve talking about?

Here's another video since you can't seem to search for yourself without bitching.

It looks a lot like WoW, from a purely graphical stand-point. This opinion is based on my viewing of the screen shots.

I'm not saying this is a bad thing, and based on your post, I fully intend to give it a try (thanks for sharing, btw!!!). Personally, I love the WoW art style.

I reserve judgement until I've tried it.

    Thanks again for sharing.

True mages don't die. They strategically miscalculate.

Sorry but is just another Shaiya,Lost Chaos different skin. These games are F2P for a reason, because they are cheap quality, low poly graphics ,low level of detail, all they are is a hangout for freeloaders that don't want to pay for games or like myself, just filling in time waiting for something good to come along. If you had to pay for these games, they wouldn't even get a look.

Is it worth goofing around in for a month or so?probably since it is by the same dev of Aeria games, their games are at least on par with all the other F2P games, but definitely not worth spending money or any length of time on them.

NEO and SONOV claim to have put in 4 years of work.yet these games are always .9-1.9 gb in size and full of low quality.Imagine how long it would take them to make the usual 7 gb file size?umm 16 years?lmao.Truth is more like 2 years and they work on several projects at once,so in reality when compared to regular 60-100 man dev teams these guys put in about 1 year.

What is VERY interesting is one of SONOV divisions[Devroot] has licensed the UE3 game engine for a BK PROJECT,it might meet their means, but you still have to put the work into art, textures, models, animations a game engine does not make the game.Huxley used the Unreal engine as well, these foreign developers, especially the Koreans are just super cheap when comes to quality.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

I agree for the most part but the comparison to last chaos and shaya seems far fetched. From the little i have seen so far it seems like there is more to do than just fight mobs, the crafting aspect seems very strong. There are tons of quests too.

So i have disagree about it being your typical asian grinder, if it was i would have uninstalled within minutes and never made this thread.

Yeh, i thought they were exagerrating but it's actually quite a great game and i probably will keep playing it for a bit and see if how it goes.

I played a little more today, i'm not sure if it's the game for me but it is definitely not your typical asian grinder.

Though i have not played that game much, it feels like runescape too me, as far as the crafting goes atleast.

The game world is not that big from what i understand, only 4(very large) maps i beleive.

The game is a grind actually, you need a ton of materials for the most basic stuff and you need alot of money too.  Equipment doesn't seem to affect your char very much so blacksmithing and weaving is about making your chars look better. Only the stones matter in the game overall.  In runescape you don't have to pve to craft, that's what a sandbox game is about. In this game it;s all about grinding mobs or doing quests, definetly not a sandbox game.

Reminds me of all the other asian grinds out there, nothing new to explore or figure out... the same old hack and slash
