As we enter the second week of OB, I'm happy to see the SV team commenting on the big issues.
Such as : Emotes, Alien Vs Predator....

Thats Starvault lol
More nitpicking.
One day people complain that the devs aren't active enough in the community, the next day people complaining that they interact with people.
My sig is just as logical as your posts are
There's hardly a need to nitpick, there are volumes of issues to discuss. OB isn't going well and I'm sure many would prefer they start discussing the real issues !!! DOnt they have better stuff to be doing right now? The fanbotz are always running off obout how limited their resources are...blah blah blah. Now we have two people working on emotes???

Not complaining, its just a trend he is pointing out.

Primary issue is lag and maybe you diddn't notice but the 2 devs on emotes are animators, the main animator and the new intern they hired to do various emotes and animations. God forbid animators work on animation and ask the community what sort of animations we would like to see. Also maybe you should have read the OP, the best 5 ideas get put into the game in the next patch.
You make it seem like they are spending the entire day on the forums talking abour random stuff.
Also nice how Rlmccoy cut the size of the image he posted where the vast majority was the devs discussing the game and a few posts here and there that are in the OT section and about other things. Had to edit out all of the devs talking about things in beta for maximum troll effect amirite?

Because the image was too big? Pixel size is 582px × 11893px. If you want to see the entire thing here is a smaller version. Posting a huge picture would give me an infraction from the mods.
This game is going to fail miseralbly because they will either 1. Launch too early and this game is broken at the moment (very broken) or 2. It will take way too long in development (which it already has) but way longer in which they will loose all viable fanbase. I have no hope for this game to launch successfully at all. The world has no instances, which is a good thing --but it is extemely small for an mmo. The small team working on this is personalble, but by all means not capable of pulling this one off.
I gotta agree with you on that. If they launch in a few weeks, the game is probably going to end up failing as they will be unable to keep subscriptions and sites like Eurogamer (which gave darkfall a 2/10) will probably give MO a .5/10 (which is generous) I honestly do not see the game lasting very long, as the fans will be unable to keep it alive. From the rate that content and bugs are being fixed or introduced, it will take them over a year to get it working. Just remember, it took them 6 months to just introduce the basic systems and they are still not completed.
Icarus? What game is that or what company is that?
I have to have my say because ,i like to think i use more common sense than many.
The VERY last thing i would EVER consider for my game is emotes.Emotes have never and will never gain you any recognition for quality work and it will NEVER gain you subscriptions.I believe this is the point some were making, you have a game to build and it is quite clear this game is far from appealing and it is in no way worth a AAA status,so they have a lot of work to do before hiring people to work on emotes.
Animation of course is VERY important and from what i saw,the animations in MO are poor, they need a lot of work, this is what those people SHOULD be working on.There is a heck of a lot more to animation than just the players, have them work on some cool animations for exploding rock or heck anything ,that would make their game appealing.Make some triggered /scripted sequences full of nice animations, that will have players saying "Whoa that's looks cool".
If i was the CEO and my lead designer was hiring people to work on emotes before my game was 100% satisfactory,i would fire him instantly. It of course would never get to that point as i would make it clear the direction of game development, before it begins.SV is obviously a noob developer, total greenhorns and that is why they are struggling so badly.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Fallen Earth...sorry should have put the game there for reference.
Ahh yea, their game is pretty good (but the AI is still kinda buggy) I should redownload that again to try it out.
I do not care for emotes either, especially since this game is first person... They should be working on the animations instead...
I have been watching them off and on and they seem to be a great example of a professional indie company.
They do all look like they just got out of highschool, not one of them looks more than 21 years old.
Edit:: and yes I mean this as a bad thing.
Why should I, the consumer care? Should I go research the day coding starts before I purchase a game? I don't care how big a company is, how much money they have, how old they are, what country they live in, what sex they are, or what color hair they have.
I simply want a complete game when I purchase it. By complete I mean fully functional with all main features of the game. I don't mean their suposed "core" features which are a joke and if taken as a whole do not even remotely constitute a game. We will see though. They have their 1st patch today and then the Miracle Patch we have heard about since before open beta will arrive in a week. As it stands now the game is nothing more than a modded FPS that lets you gather resources (very basic), perform basic crafting, "tame" a handful of creatures (when the AI functions), and build a basic house in some pre-determined slots.
We will see what the 22nd brings.
