Hey all,
I want an MMORPG with lots of story. ive tried several things regarding mmorpgs. (AoC, WoW, Aion, WAR etc..) I was bored very quickly and had an awfull time grinding and looking for more lore.
I want a game that gives me a story that pulls me into the game
Guildwars for example: (Ive played it to death 3 times)
Lots of lore and a full story driven world.
This is exactly what i want.
Suggestions would be great!
Lars

LOTRO is probably the only other story based mmo out there right now.
I would have gone for EQ2, plenty of lore in there if you want to read it.

Leemeg.
Fallen earth has a long story line, best of all no orcs or elves.........
Thanks for the reply. Everquest 2 seems ok and Lotro to but i would really prefer the movie showing talking kind of story and not a tekst story
Problem with fallen earth: No game cards / bank paymen option / moneybookers
Its ashame i miss that because they wont add extra payment options.
Can't find an MMO with more story in the market than FFXI, but unfortunately the story in that game is quite inaccessible for the normal player. It's a shame, since the story is really top notch, at least the ones from the last 5-6 years. Every bit of story is told in cutscenes. Like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOFk4WIiTKU
Well, FFXIV will continue in the same trend, so there's that to look forward to. SW:TOR too.
Cutscenes might be annoying after a while :P
SWTOR is something that hopefully will be good but im not expecting much ^^ in this case i wont get dissapointed
Then get in line with the rest of us waiting for what we want.
Well, it's not very newb-friendly.. at all. And the story opens up very late in the game, so you have to play it a lot to get to the good parts. Since the user base is very top heavy, it might be hard to find people to do the missions with, too.
It's doable, but such a hassle that I'd rather wait for FFXIV than try to climb uphill in a snowstorm .
EDIT: And it's not like the game would be full of cutscenes, we're talking about an MMO after all. Most of your playtime is spent in-game, not in-cs, so when you get to watch one you'll appreciate it =P.
DDO!
Hands down.
Lotro close second.
Asheron's Call probably has one of the best ongoing story lines in the business. Being updated monthly by the dev team, it has almost 11 years of history accumulated. And, it's a very good story. The gameplay and graphics are very dated, but lore is deep and the world changes monthly in accordance with any changes in the story and lore. If you decide to play there, I"m always looking for an excuse to fire up my old account.
Asheron's Call is not a game for me. I dont know how the storyline is but i have to step back at the graphics.
