Ok, so im going to cut right to the chase here.
As we all can see, the MMORPG Forums are constantly updated with new threads and new posts relating to MMORPGs.
Many involve the general discussion of how a released game could improve, how it could expand and attract new players and how it may be its own worst enemy and thus flushing itself down the toilet.
Some include ideas and features that developers should keep in mind when creating a game or just general ideas for a new game.
So my question to everyone is, do you think game developers are looking at these? taking these things on board and trying to improve their game. I mean afterall, we are the people who play the game, surely what we are suggesting makes sense (With obvious exceptions :P) as we have been here and played the game threw, seen its strengths and weaknesses and know what it needs.
Perhaps its just me, but as I look threw these forums I see tonnes of ideas that should be included in MMOs, yet I never see anything happen. What do you guys think? Do you think these threads go unnoticed or are we just being ignored?

The only ones getting ideas and discussing them (Serious threads go down the drain pretty fast buried under useless flame threads) are the future developers in my opinion.
I doubt any current non indy people visit these forums for ideas, but I am guessing there are people like me who would like to one day make an MMO and visit these forums to discuss.
Which makes me wonder...how many people here even plan to help/make an MMO?, or are you all just people who just play them?
You have people all over the map far as what they feel makes a good or bad mmorpg.
Coming to these boards for insight would probably be more frustrating than anything for most developers.
1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.
2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.
3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.
True, but not neccesarily, even if it doesn't look liek it, there are a few mature people that do take things seriously/technically like those who are not playing any MMOs for example. (I am just that picky)
But yeah, I doubt any developers come here at all.
I think these forums and others like it would have alot to offer develope, as wisesquirrel said, most of the people who use information from this site are posters who became developers.
Im just giving my opinion, I think much can be learnt from the posters on these forums or just forums in general.

I don't think the mmorpg forums have a good reputation. And I don't think many companies care about our opinion, they only want to make fast money.
Well. I am on my way to become a game designer. It would be a great opportunity to make an MMO. But I don't know if I will have the chance, since MMOs are very expensive projects, thus having a need for star-designers. ;-)
I wouldn't really worry about that, if MMOs were impossible to achieve, how could so many crappy MMOs been made?
I can't wait to start getting into the game industry as well (We need fresh, ambitious non greedy minds).
Well, I wish you and the other poster all the best in your endeavours but the problem is regardless how you might feel personally at the end of the day the bean counters tend to be the ones a lot of times that call the shots and push the direction in this industry as in may others.
Still, given the right group of people it seems smaller companies can get a foothold and offer something unique and different compared to the mainstream. CCP and Icarus are two companies I can think of off the top of my head. So here's hoping you guys get to make your dreams come true.

Aye, For those of you who wish to become developers, I hope you do.
I think a problem with games today, is as someone said, its all about getting fast money.
We need people who will sit down and think about a game that will attract in the beginning and maintain for the long term. And I think the players are the key to that, so I think its good that more gamers are becoming developers, gamers with alot of MMO experience, as they shall bring life to the industry and make it what we need!

There are 1.8mil people registered on this site and something like 500 million MMO players globally, why would a developer pay any attention to the minority here?
Because every river starts with a drop.

While it would be great to think that developers may come here for ideas but I seriously doubt it. There are lots of interesting discussions on these forums (when actual discussions take place and dont spiral into nonsense/bigotry) but I think most developers end up sticking to pre-determined formulas and work with ideas that have been successful in the past and try to make changes here and there to make their game "different from their competitors". Yes certain companies will take chances but that is getting rarer and rarer these days.
Are these threads going unnoticed? more than likely,
Are they straight ignoring us? its quite possible most developers have never even heard of this site.
