So does anyone else think that there needs to be a Dragon Age MMO ? i mean this game rules for everything.
Story wise there's already LOTRO--it's similar :P. Gameplay wise, well, until we find a mmo we can spam the pause button, I really don't think this is the best option. There are several turn-based mmo's though, Atlantica? I think was one.
If Bioware were to make an MMO from this genre, I think it would be to revive an old IP, like Baldur's Gate.
Not certain if they can do that as I don't think Bioware own the rights to Baldur's Gate at the moment. I think a lot for Bioware and MMO will depend on SW:TOR. If SW:TOR is a big hit they will concentrate on that for the next years, if it fails they will probably put MMO on hold from that point. I cannot honestly see SW:TOR failing, so to be honest I cannot see Bioware making a Dragon Age MMO. I think Blizzard are more likely to try to do something here as a WoW replacement game, they need to move their horde of players over to some new next generation mmo franchise in next years, and a non-kiddy cartoon WoW, what AoC could have been if it hadn't been buggy mess on launch, may be the best you will get, as Blizzard like to borrow ideas from whatever is successful in gaming for their own games.

Yes, the epic form in itself is very traditional so they share a lot of story elements, but if you're going to be particular, Dragon Age has much much more to do with the Wheel of Time series than Lord of the Rings. The legends and religions, the way magic is perceived (mages under obligation to be "registered") and even some of the terminology ("Blight" anyone?)...
But yes, yes Dragon Age would make a nice MMO setting... The Wheel of Time time setting in itself is incomparably richer and has more literary guts, but in my opinion making games out of books is not a walk in the park and has too many IP issues dragging you down. A company making an MMO out of its own gaming franchise is a much better prospect.
Sure I want a game to give me as many non-interactive cut scenes as possible with the illiusion that choice effects the game. Because, you know, I hate actually playing games. I'd much rather watch them play themselves. Touching input peripherals is so 2 years ago.
Bioware has stated that the combat in Dragon Age will be used in SW :TOR. I would imagine that Bioware is going to see how that will work as an MMO before making an MMO version of Dragon Age.

No but I would love a Co-op option for Dragon Age 2 that's kinda like Borderlands.
Give me local four player split screen and Drop in adn out online play with a scenario editor for both consoles and PC and ill die happy.
Not everything needs to be an mmo.
Playing: Rift, LotRO
Waiting on: GW2, BP
Great game - but it doesn't need to be an MMO to be a great game.
I'll take a non-mmo Dragon Age 2 in multiplayer form.

I'd play it if they made it. I really hope for Mass Effect Online.
