Let's just say now that I think it's a great idea as I've always wanted a good , solid AAA MMO I can play on my Xbox... I was so sad when True Fantasy Live Online was pulled...
In before the "ZOMG they'll dumb the game down to consoles now 1111!!111!" b.s. that forum trolls like to sprout that has NO meaning what so ever.
I think it would be neat to have TOR on Xbox, but I don't really care. More of a PC player myself. So as long as it doesn't take away from the PC development side of things I am all for TOR coming to Xbox. That being said, I wonder if it won't be a later release. TOR is supposed to come out Q2 2011 (Assumed May), I am wondering if the Xbox launch won't be more like Q4 (maybe Christmas).
the list is screwy in a lot of ways...for instance HAZE is on that list...listed under the wrong publisher...beyond that why would the port a PS3 exclusive so late? The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf is also on there...which has been put on indefinate hold. The list is shinanagins imo.

Yeah I would only buy TOR on 360 if it was F2p.
Consdiering we have no idea what type of payment model its using ill wait and see.

Reported on Massively two hours before the countdown clock on ME2/DA:O websites reaches its end?
Could be viral marketing.
Could be total horse-hockey.
Guess we'll wait and see!
Gameplay videos do show a classic MMO "hotbar" i.e. 1-0 and - = so how would they translate such a thing to a game controller?

I still am going with shinanagins.
EA did announce way back in 2008 that they were going to consider SW:TOR and WAR for console releases...but nothing more has really been said. If they were developing it...EA would have been all about blowing their own horn by this point.

The combinatio and order your hit the buttons in (some one came out with a 5 button keyboard recently, takes twice as long to type on it though), although I agree, would be more difficult to play on a console. I am trying to figure out what the 247 is (24/7 maybe or something else). But yea this report seems a little off.
They could be ussing TOR as a cover name for something else, why they would IDK, but like the whole Blue Harvest thing.

I am going to go out on a limb. Probably $15 a mo for actual play with the option of buying fluff items from an MT store for real money as well. This seems to be the standard now, even classic MMO like EQ are doing this sort of thing now to make additional money to support the game (or to get rich).
Who needs to type when you have party chat on the 360 ? Anyway, I could see The Old Republic coming to console but I could also see a Mass Effect mmo coming to the 360 as well.
I think that would be great. A lot of people are exclusively console and this would allow a triple A mmo to reach a new audience. I'm surprised WOW hasn't reached out to console yet.
Also I'm getting a 3d 55 inch LCD tv, and the thought of playing it on my xbox sounds very exciting.
People...it's been confirmed since like last summer it's NOT coming to consoles. Some retailer listing it with a TBA release date doesn't change that.
Actually the official response from Sean has always been "We aren't talking about that right now. Its coming out for PC. We may consider doing a console version at somepoint in the future." They never shot down consoles, but they never really were going after them either.

Sean just made a new post about this, again stating PC only like 15 minutes ago.

That's a Link to the statement Jamion is talking about but I'll copy and paste the actual post here too for those who don't want to bother rereading the updated massively article in question or look up the response:
"I know many of you have heard this before but I'll go ahead and reiterate it for those of you who may be new:
Star Wars: The Old Republic is currently being developed for the personal computer (PC) using the Microsoft® Windows® operating system. While we recognize that there are other operating systems and platforms available for games today, our development is specific to the personal computer using the Windows operating system at this time."
Whilst this doesn't say SW:TOR may not be developed for consoles int he future it does confrim they are currently only working on a windows PC version(sorry Apple users) at this time.

Considering their countdown to an announcement is featured on both the ME2 and Dragon Age sites - games that are both on Xbox 360 and PC....
I'd say it's fairly likely?
If they do They will jack up their initial box sales big time.
Good move for Bioware if they are really doing this.
Playing: Rift, LotRO
Waiting on: GW2, BP

Would probably play on different servers, so separate crowds which would be good IMO.
If they can do it, great. That means more money for development.
Wasn't that way for FFXI though.
What makes you think they would seperate the servers? I could see it going both ways.
Hmm... Do you think they will release TOR as a subscription mmo on 360? I can see this game being F2p with buyable DLC.
Kinda like Borderlands. That game sold 3 million box sales and sells every DLC they put out (3 or 4 so far).
I wonder if TOR for the 360 wont be more of a Co-Rpg with DLC?
always fun to speculate.

I would guess someone made a type-o. There's no mention of Star Wars: The force Unleashed 2...which is due out this year.
I can see it as more of a 8.99 or whatever monthly fee to offset the 5.99 xbox live fee so over all the price would match the PC price.
Either way you have to buy the box (50-60) for either PC or Xbox and in terms of buying a PC over a 360.. both have their advantages.
Interesting.

I would love a ME mmo... but I suppose SW:ToR on 360 would be just fine too.
Uggh... No thanks! Im still pissed over TOR being a mmo instead of Kotor 3. Lets not ruin anymore sp rpg ips k.

Didn't they say this was a community related announcement and not game related?
